I had a fantastic evening last night!! I saw The Moody Blues in concert last night in Bournemouth!! The only thing that ruined it for me was the audience!! Talk about sedation!!!! It was only untill about the third to last song did the audience really rock!! I have loads of bootleg recordings of the US leg of this tour and the HUGE differences in audience reactions and participations is like chalk and cheese!! Why are British audiences, even middle-aged, so frightened to really let their hair down and ROCK??? For a minute, I thought that I had gone to a very large funeral and the only thing missing was the coffin!!!LOLOLOLOLOL. Even middle-aged people in the USA know how to ROCK!!!!

I very nearly ran onto the stage and yelled out to the comatose audience to ****ing wake up and get up off their asses and get IN the concert!!!!! They might just as well have stayed at home and sat in their armchairs and played some CDs!!!

I guess watching people who are almost pensioners in a band called "The Moody Blues" put preconceived ideas into people's heads

I've been to a lot of gigs and the people at the back usually just stand there, but most of those from the middle to the front get well into it, especially those directly at the front.

It was probably just a bad concert (in terms of the audience, not the band )

But, on the opposite end of the spectrum I have had awful times at concerts when people have been too rowdy.

I'm not sure which category you want to put me in, age-wise, but I'm 70 years old and I went to EIGHT concerts in the US during The Moodies spring and summer tours this year. And believe me, I was one of the first to get up and cheer for each song and to remain on my feet as long as necessary. I didn't block anyone's views or get in anyone's way but when it was necessary, I was up and dancing!!! And if I had been fortunate enough to attend a UK Moody Blues concert, I would have been up and dancing there too. I have heard the English are *civilized* people but surely not at a rock concert!!! And not when The Moodies are playing!! They should be called *The Moody Stand Up and Cheer Blues*!!! I don't know how anyone could control themselves that much!!! Oh well, that will just bring The Moodies back over here that much faster!! Come on back, guys, we have our glow sticks and signs just waiting for you!!

I saw the Moodies in the UK a couple of years ago, and the audience was pretty good, as were the band.

I first saw them at Wembley in 1972, and that was a great show. I do miss Mike Pinder from those days.

A quiet audience for bands from that era will not be a new thing though. Audiences in the late 60s tended to sit quietly in concentration, and give a round of polite applause at the end of a song.

Better audience at the O2 on the 25th September, lots of people up and dancing, standing ovation for Nights in White Satin and also the whoile audience standing and singing along to Question!

And Justin Hayward was nearly hit by one of Gordon Marshall's drumsticks!
