Not sure if this thread has been done or not, so apologies straight away if I'm going over old ground...
I was thinking earlier which stories have had the most satisfying endings in old and new 'Who'
My choices are
Old Who:
Pyramids of Mars: especially seeing as Robert Holmes had no idea how to end it, then he hit on the idea of the 8minute time delay (I think) between Mars and Earth, giving the Doc enough time to save the day...
New Who:
Girl in the Fireplace: I remember thinking throughout the story 'what the hell is going on...' and then in the final shot, with no dialogue it all came together and made sense...
