First live show - Friday 1st Oct, 9pm -10pm

Followed by Saturday 2nd Oct, 6pm -- 7.05pm. The celebrity couples face the Strictly judges for the first time and battle it out to see who takes the top spot. With a spectacular group routine and a performance from Robbie Williams and Gary Barlow, the first weekend is set to impress!

I've just read this Newsletter as well and wondered how they are planning the show.....

Couples will start dancing on Friday 1st, but they don't face the judges until Saturday? What's that about do you think?

Possibly only half of them will be dancing each night.

I think you've misread that. It should have started on a new line really. Couples will all face the judges as usual after they've danced. Or that's how I'm reading it anyway.

It's 7 couples facing the judges on Friday, 7 on Saturday, confirmed by BBCstrictly on twitter. The newsletter is trying to say that over the first weekend all couples face the judges for the first time (i.e. over both shows), it just doesn't do so particularly clearly.

7couples dance on Friday and 7 couples dance on Saturday show it was confirmed on twitter yesterday but bbcstrictly on twitter won't tell who will be dancing on Friday show or the Saturday they want to leave it for a surprise on the night

I'm pleased that they have bios for the pro dancers on the site now

So the following week is it 13 couples on a Sat?

It will be 14 won't it as nobody is being eliminated the first week.

The second week is a live Saturday show, plus a pre-recorded Sunday results show.

Yes, there's no way it could be live - too much of a waste of time bringing dancers and a new audience in for a half hour show! Takes away from the dancers' rehearsal time and one day off!
