I actually thought it was a sample.

If this was the other way around I'm sure Chris Brown's record label would be filing some kind of copyright claim now.

I just checked on his Twitter (I'm not a follower) and it seems he'd getting hammered from teeny Chris Brown fans for even suggesting it's a copy!

My goodness, thats rather blatant.

I'm sure Calvin Harris will do rather well in an out of court settlement if he decides to take action.

Also, there is an utterly brilliant comment from "laurenisspecial" below the Chris Brown version on youtube. I had quite a "lol" at that.

if chris brown sees a light flashing, does this mean that he's going home?

Not even an attempt to disguise the source of the sample. As said already it's more than blatant

from DJ Frankie E facebook

. How did you guys come up with the song, "Yeah 3x"?
I was working late one night in the studio when I got a call from my manager. Chris was working in the studio down the street and wanted to me to come down and listen to some tracks. I walked in, met Chris for the first time, and played him 1 track. He sat there for 4 minutes listening, then said, "Ok, I'm ready." He jumped in the booth and wrote the whole thing on the spot.
2. Who wrote it?
Chris did and he wrote it in about 15 minutes. I didn't realize that he wrote so much until then. I was really impressed.

so it looks like Chris wrote the song to DJ tune, HE didnt rip Calvin off, Mr Frankie did

Regardless of who wrote it, it's still a rip off and Chris is the one releasing it.

Calvin should just laugh off the twitter abuse. They're just silly girls who think CB can do no wrong, the kind who even defended him for beating up his girlfriend because she "deserved" it - so they shouldn't be taken seriously.

That is SUCH a blatant rip off! I cant believe how ANYONE could dispute that Chris Brown didnt copy the synths and the beat!

Calvin must be raging! His song is epic and the CB one is average at best!

The producers create the beats, and sometimes you cant blame the artist.

Chris Brown may never have heard calvin harris - "im not alone". Nevertheless didnt coldplay get sued for doing something similar

It does sound similar but I wouldn't have realised if no one had said anything. I prefer Chris Browns version. There was a demo of it flying around a few months back with a different singer and different words. Wonder what calvin would've though of that lol?

Plus I doubt Chris Brown has ever heard Calivin Harris' song or even knows he exists.
