I've got Jimmy 5/1,Michelle 7/1,Tina 12/1 and Goldie 25/1.Who are your bets on?

As SCD start for another year I have thought long and hard after watching the preview shows etc who would be the best value for money for my best this year

I liked the look of Matt Baker with Aloina but at 4/1 favs there was no value for money for me.Mrs1888 liked the look of the new dancer Artem Chigvintsev (far too much for my liking) but as soon as he was paired with Kaira there was no value for money

So after great thought I decided this year to go for £5 at 5/1 on Jimmy and Flavia.I just think how popular Flavia and how she managed to keep Craig Kelly in the competition for so long last year. Also Jimmy looks like he has some goo moves so maybe this will finally be Flavia s year to win

Michelle just looked so good in the warm up show and Brendan's delights at getting her for me told me he has his best chance to win this again since Series 1

Tina is an odd one.I think she will be popular and even though I have heard she is struggling I think after watching her on Disco mania all theses years ago she will do well eventually and at 12/1 the odds were too good to be true

And finally Goldie.I'm not a great fan of his but I thought he looked pretty good in the warm up show and was surprised he was as low down as 25/1 to win.I think he is starting at the same position as Chris was last year and I fell this is one guy who will get better as the competition goes on and of course everyone likes Kristina

So here's to another great year of SCD.May the best dancer win as long as its one them 4

Who is everyone else on here betting on this year?

Welcome back Bhoy!
I hope your fave is a better dancer than your chosen one Craig last year.

I quite fancy Jimi.
And I think he could be a good dancer too!!

God you are so lucky.I could only get him at 5/1.He seems to be doing the best out of all my horses so far in training

I have not heard good things about Tina so far.I am worried she is going to be another Martina Hingis and fall surprising early.

I'm off to Florida for when week 2 & 3 is on so I am worried that one of my 4 horses wont be standing when I come back

If you are concerned about stability, you should have gone for Gavin.
He has two left feet.

If he also has 2 right feet, he should be able to stay upright...

I only went for him as his odds reminded me a bit of Alesha in series 5- who I also spotted at 10-1, but didn't put money on. Relatively young and fit, and with a very good pro.

I think people are going a bit crazy for him though, considering dancing hasn't started yet, so it's not so much about thinking he's going to win. Weirdly enough I wanted to place a bet as I'm not that into this series yet and I thought it might raise my interest!

I also have Matt at 4-1, as I had a free bet from last time I bet on Strictly. Which, if you're wondering, was not a great success! Joe Calzaghe and Richard Dunwoody- ouch!

On reflection I don't think Matt will do it, wish I'd spent my free bet on someone like Felicity or Pamela. I swear one of these days an older celeb will do it.

Anyone got any thoughts on Goldie.I just think he looked OK in the warm up show and I think Kristina is very popular with the voters

I am hoping he can turn out to be a Darren Gough

I managed to get Goldie at 34/1

I don't think any of the pros are popular enough to sway things, especially not Kristina.

Goldie is a difficult one, I wonder if he's actually a little bit too 'cool' for the demographic. He wouldn't be my pick, but who knows?

If you want a lazy comparison- look at what happened to Spoony.

Michelle probably the most natural there obviously with her background but i think she may not go the distance because she may come across as arrogant.

I have a feeling Goldie could do well and like someone said might do a Darren Gough,

Tell me... does "Inactive Member" by the OP's name mean he's been banned again?!

Unless he's on a permanent ban and someone reported him or the Mods spotted him.

I put £10 at 9/1 on Felicity Kendal, more out of sentiment and hope than because I thought she would actually win, and because she had reasonably long odds at the time. Having said that I am impressed by her attitude and to some extent by her training video. She also has a huge fane base and must be a definite contender.

Jimi Mistry looks to be the best dancer so far and should get much of the fee vote so must be favourite.

Kara Tointon has some experience but looked a bit ungainly in the training video, particularly on the turns, but I think she must be a contender.

Michelle Williams might turn out to be the best but being American, and, it has to be said, black may count against her, but then colour did not stop Alesha winning
