Shame because if Simon had been retained I would probably have listened to him in the car on the way to work but no way with Andrew Castle. I don't really understand what was wrong with Simon he's a well known professional presenter to me he came over well adapting to the new format surely just the fact that's its him would help retain any new listeners.

Andrew Castle on the other hand doesn't add anything he's just there mainly reminding everyone who he is link after link how did he land the prime show?

Good for Eamonn Kelly. Looks like he is Castles holiday cover. I'd prefer they use David Andrews but both beat the guy that used to be on tv doing something.

Absolutely baffling. What a brilliant comment Occy. I never have thought of that for myself.

Kent's is the same (just swap 'kent' for 'essex' in the URL) - though it's probably just some sort of upload blooper, I doubt Global would give us south-easterners Gold back even for a bank holiday (though as I can still get 1548, no change - for me at least - is necessary)...

So on Good Friday at 6am we get David Andrews handing over to Eamonn Kelly. Just like old times.

It's national so you would lose the local connection.

I meant the london feed only which is what i get. Obviously other areas would like to keep the local shows.

Surely in Suffolk you get the ex Gold DAB local feed? I suppose like me for the time being you can also get the Smooth UK London/National feed.

This week in the East Midlands we have Jo Lloyd covering for Emma Cauldwell on the drive home and on Sunday Dave Rhodes. Ex or soon to be Ex Real radio presenters. Are they going to be covering all the regions when presenters are on holiday.

When the Smooth UK London/National mono feed on D1 closes, and as there is no local DAB, Suffolk (and other places with no local DAB feed yet) will only get Smooth on maybe AM, online, DTV and any local DAB stereo spillover from other areas?

As you’re a Soul Girl, and I’m a Soul Boy, I tend to agree – but that attitude JM is on about I what I’ve heard – I often say to Taxi drivers “whats this station?” (I know full well what it is) and will ask them “is it any good?” and that response is pretty much what they’ll say
I don’t think JM would programme a station that way if it was his choice but I guess he knows it’s just the way its become.

On a personal note, I don’t think the Smooth WM is so bad, I think London lose out with Castle, who as a tennis commentator could send a glass eye to sleep………
