I'll have to try and have a listen to his Magic show online then, I'm down in the south so haven't heard it but have heard a lot of good things about it. Great to know that that 'intimate' feel of radio is not lost completely, Tony really 'gets' that, which you can really hear especially so when he chats to his listeners.

I know there are worst things to be but I'm way too young to even remember the days of radio Caroline. Maybe he's not everyone's cup of tea but I really admire Tony Blackburn for speaking his mind about the current style of most stations: "2o songs in a row and then a time check" "that's not proper radio that's a machine" (as quoted by him in a great piece in the Telegraph - SO true!! But then again I'm not a 'listener' I'm an 'anorak' now apparently, some of these 'listeners' also think that "DJs are boring" - charming!!
