Yes indeed. I'm Anthony davis on breakfast. Why do he keep saying his name on every link. Although I know he is a nice bloke I just wish he would stop telling us who he is.

Smooth Radios gain is LBCs loss and I hope he will still return to do cover on there from time to time
Sadly his presentation on here Is how they want things doing on the station
And I can promise you as a person far from dull amongst other things an encyclopaedic knowledge of London and a keen pilot
He's a former child star on Grange hill comedian magician and impressionist and has also hosted a tv quiz show
Wasted on smooth methinks

A good presenter will always adapt to what the station want from them. Anthony is a good example of this - his weekend overnight shows on LBC pre-Global were a mixture of serious and light topics including one night on relationships and another night there was a quiz. When Global moved to a more newstalk direction the show changed to more current affairs.

I listened to a hour of him this morning - I enjoyed his asides on what he was talking about. It actually reminded me a bit of those weekend overnight shows I mentioned when he would talk about things and end it with a quip!

Couldn't agree with you more dpb
He did the same with the shows on Jazz and talked with authority as he's a big fan

As you say when he returned to lbc he was Globalised .. Think other than Steve Allen they all were and it remains a sad fact that the fun seems to have left that station much like Smooth and Fa sorry Heart 😢

Short links not to much waffling as you can get lost. All good at not too much waffling and laid back.

A few presenters on Radio 2 should be on a station like Smooth as they tend too waffle on and would be better at shorter links.

Still no news as to when Smooth is coming off Digital One.

I thought we would have heard something by now.

Indeed instead of 2 Smooths we could still have had another 5 months of Gold.

quoting that famous outer space race The Borg "you will be assimilated"
quoting the hierarchy at Leicester Square HQ "you will be Globalised.... You will be Globalised"
and we have, and its rightly all about economics but wrongly they have as someone said earlier taken the fun and personality out of radio.

had my morning rant.

I think you are missing the point here. Part of Radio 2's appeal is its talk and conversation. You just cannot compare Smooth Radio with Radio 2.

And do you have anyone in mind when shipping off Radio 2 presenters to Smooth Radio?

Watching paint dry is more exciting than listening to a Global station.

Thanks for telling us three times. Nearly as repetitive as Smooth!

Yes but Smooth knows the right things to repeat

That indeed is a matter of opinion. The repetitive playlist is to me its biggest problem. I can put up with not much talk if only they would extend the playlist by a few hundred tracks.

...and if their rapid rise slowed down, would you advise them to shrink it again?

No, it's a matter of fact as the latest Rajar numbers testify.
