You will wait a long time as I am away over Easter with no internet and I can't get Smooth on FM.

Funny how the stations audience levels began their steep rise just as significant figures like yourself 'deserted' it. I'm sure it's just a coincidence

You might be able to get it on AM or DAB where you are going - to paraphrase Aerosmith I wouldn't want you to miss a thing

I can get it on AM but I am not that desperate. I could take my DAB portable but I won't. Thanks for your concern but I am more than happy to give Smooth a miss I really do have better things to do over Easter.

When will Richard Park realise where he's going wrong? All he has to do is programme his radio stations exactly how Amara wants them all the time.

No wonder Global is such a failure

I find it odd that Bohemian Rhapsody wasn't in the top 500. Sure it's not a Smooth song but it is widely regarded as the best song ever

Noob observer question: what does MTD mean?

Smooth's audience is increasing, so it must be doing something right. How are its AM stations doing?

I would assume it would have not made too much difference. I'm assuming the increase is in part down to other platforms.

For the top 500 I will probably vote for songs not even on the Smooth playlist

I was going to suggest some modern songs, but instead I may suggest Billy Joel Piano Man which Smooth should play

Anyone know what the Smooth schedule for Good Friday and Easter Monday is? As in who is doing what show

Just voted on the Smooth web site for my 3 favourite tracks in their Top 500. Not much chance of them being in Top 500 though, but thought I might as well try!!!!!!!!!!

New Riders Of The Purple Sage - On My Way Back Home
David Castle - Ten To Eight
Hoyt Axton - Della And The Dealer

These tracks used to feature on the playlist for of The Coast before it became Jack FM.

Good Friday is on the schedule page of the website

6am Eamonn Kelly
10am Paul Phear
2pm Anthony Davies
6pm Chris Skinner

I'd imagine Easter Monday will be same.

Thanks. Will it all be national then? I presume the British and American Songbooks will take place as normal on Saturday and Easter Sunday as well as Smooth Soul but the rest of the weekend will be the top 500

Which probably explains exactly why The Coast was never a commercial success.

On a slightly different note, I seem to recall there was once a campaign to vote a virtually unknown angler (unknown outside of angling circles anyway) as BBC Sports Personality of the Year. Maybe you should try and orchestrate a campaign to have New Riders Of The Purple Sage voted #1 in the Smooth Top 500. Genuine question - In these days of increased compliance, would Global have to accept such an outcome if the votes came flooding in?
