I noticed there are some small changes on Smooth.

Smooth Love Songs has been reduced to 3 hours running Mon - Fri 22.00 - 01.00 in preparation to be presented by Danny Pietroni from November.

David Andrews gains an extra hour Mon - Fri 01.00 - 04.00

Dave Brown gains an extra hour at the weekends between 01.00 - 06.00

Smooth Soul presented by David Andrews returns on Saturday 18.00 - 20.00 (Unless website is incorrect)

The Great British Songbook with Paul Phear now on Saturday from 20.00. (Unless website in incorrect)

The female voice over for Smooth Jingles has changed the male voice over remains the same.
I doubt Smooth Soul is coming back

Yes its so depressing from the jingles to the music. Even Magic makes smooth sound very poor. At least magic mix the music up rather than being sleepy all day.

Some listeners on the Facebook page are complaining about an advert for Make Some Noise donations which supposedly says "shame on you" to listeners who don't donate. Has anyone heard this?

Meanwhile, North West listeners are objecting to Smooth running adverts for The Sun, which is still boycotted on Merseyside due to the lies printed about the Hillsborough disaster.

On the day, various Global presenters would talk about "not giving to charity" if you texted "stop" to messages after entering a competition. Don't know if people are meaning that.

How lovely for him.Starting on a Thursday?..Yeh...logical......Or is this gardening leave and a starting date working out to a midweek start? What days is he supposed to be doing.,website says hes on every day for the next week. It'll probably be recorded in that case. If not.why can't radio stations get their websites right??....No photo of him either.

Danny is presenting Late Night Love Songs Monday to Friday evenings from 10pm to 1am. Weekends it looks like it is still non stop without a presenter which is a shame.

On Twitter it said "Join Paul Phear for your Saturday Night Smooth Sanctuary". What about the British Songbook?

Me too!! I notice they are playing a bit more modern stuff now- Stereophonics, Emily Sande and that song called Never Expecting that.

I think it does sound a bit more upbeat too during the daytimes- I think the show with the least chat still is Paul Phear weekdays - he hardly says anything. I wonder why this is? It's just nearly all large sweeps of music.

All they need to do is change the playlist in the evenings. Smooth sanctuary and Love songs is tedious but no doubt millions love it
