3pm to 7pm....unsure why it's that time......as all (or most) other Smooth Drive are 4pm to 7pm. I think before Smooth took over GOLD....Gold had a local opt out at this time & it seems like they have kept to those times.
Smooth in Wales has to have 4 hours a day produced from Wales, hence why it's the only AM station to have a local drive show

Was listening to Tina on Sunday on AM in Norfolk by chance. When she was talking I could hardly hear anything she said it was like she was whispering but I suppose not many use AM anymore.
That's

That's what happens when you employ TV personalities to do radio shows.

Some shows on Smooth are clearly not live though.

Smooth Extra has also also has some 'interesting' segues recently. This cant be done by a computer I presume - unless someone set it up wrongly !

It looks like Smooth Extra has been taking the London Smooth feed for a few days and no separate daytime non stop music programming. Is this just for Christmas I wonder?

Breakfast has been national this week with Gary King.

Interesting when l was driving that the jingles for locals say Smooth Radio north east / midlands like they do London. Hearts jingles only have London and this is heart for locals

I would like to see Smooth 1260 appear on the Wrexham and Cheshire multiplex. It's on the north Wales coast one anyway.

The licence is up in 2027, plenty of time to get listeners to swap and end the medium wave broadcast.

And now Gold has been taken off DAB in Central Scotland. I'm not going back to Smooth because of the issues mentioned before so I guess I'll have to hunt for another suitable station..

Global will not put Smooth 1260 on the Wrexham and Cheshire multiplex as it covers Cheshire and Liverpool which are covered by Smooth North West which is owned by Communicorp.

Communicorp will not like another version of Smooth available in Liverpool and Cheshire as listeners could be listening to other version Smooth for North Wales and Cheshire.

Communicorp will not put Heart North Wales on DAB as the Wrexham and Cheshire multiplex does not match the FM coverage and it will cause confusion in Liverpool and Cheshire as it is already covered by Heart North West owned by Global

Global should really close Smooth 1260 on AM as it is partly in Smooth North West's area which is on FM. Global will get less listeners on AM for Smooth and advertisers for Cheshire, Wirral and Liverpool will opt for adverts to be heard on Smooth North West ran by Communicorp. Smooth North West should move from Bauer's Liverpool multiplex to the Wrexham, Liverpool and Cheshire multiplex so there is one version on DAB in Liverpool, Cheshire and Wrexham.

Looks like Smooth's online media team will be one lighter today...

The audience for 1260AM has surged since it switched to Smooth in 2014. There must be lots of people in North Wales/Chester listening to Smooth North West on FM/DAB but marking the AM station in their RAJAR diaries, giving it an artificially high RAJAR result.
