I like listening to the Golden Hour at 8.40pm and will tape if if I am out.

Why are they dropping the Monday - Thursday editions.?

They should maybe have it on three times a week ( Monday , Wednesday and Friday) as a compromise)

So will Our Tune run Monday to Thursday at 9.30?

Where have you heard this? Or do you mean that with Chris Moyles leaving, there will no longer be two stations doing the same feature nationally?

I very rarely listen to Smooth, however I was out & about in the car after 7pm on Wednesday so tuned into the 70's @ 7 with David Jensen

Is that voice tracked ? It sounded like it was to me

Does he broadcast from Manchester or London? Maybe it is. The whole show seems to be.

From what I understand, Bates and Goodier all week and Jensen on Fridays from Smooth London.

I stopped listening to the Smooth Drive Home just after Jensen took over - he came across as totally lifeless and uninterested, and compared to Carlos was dreadful to listen to. A few weeks ago I was discussing the changes with a friend of mine, who said Jensen sounded as it he wasn't live.

I listened to 70s at 7 last night and I'd swear the show was voice tracked, which if true is appalling.

It's when a presenter pre records links for thie show in advance, and these links are on the play out system. This means the content can be heard between the music and there is no need for a presnter to be live in the studio operating the equipment.Links can be recorded hours.days or even weeks in advance. It happens all too often these days.I'm afraid.

From what I heard all of the links could have been easily VT'd. He had absolutely nothing interesting to say, very it a "that was, this is" presentation and a plug for his Double Top 20 show.

It wouldn't surprise me if that last hour wasn't VT'd but I can't for one minute think that a national Drive Time show would be VT'd

Such a shame that a once great presenter seems to have had the life sucked out of him by Smooth's style of delivery.

It didn't affect Tony Blackburn while he was there, nor does it affect Simon Bates & Pat Sharp (their shows have loads of personality).

I'm not sure that you can blame the station for everything.

IMO David is at his best when he is doing a chart show or an interview show (such as the Sunday morning show he presented on Gold). He is a great broadcaster but doesn't have the personality of Blackburn or Bates to be able to ad-lib his way through a show with entertaining quips and anecdotes.

I think David Jensen had the life sucked out of him at Gold befor he evan went over to Smooth!! But i must admit he is a big dissapointment for me on smooth, his shows have no life in them at all, with the exception of the double top20 show i can not listen to him!! just have listen to Carlos to see how it should be done personality radio at its best!!

Simon has molded in very well on Smooth Breakfast. It's a shame all those years he lost at Classic FM.

I listened to Kid Jensen on the Smooth Drive Home a few weeks ago it must have been 4:02pm, just after his jingle was played. and then he played a song during the song he said. "Hi There"......And just that! lol

Every now and then Jensen does a short link before the first song with a spirited 1977 style 'Hi There!!'' or a 1986 style promo for the Network chart spirited 'IT'S THAT TIME OF THE WEEK AGAIN'..and you think you are in for a good show. but no,it soon disintegtates into the same old same old.lifeless.boring. 'going the the motions' 'and up next' tripe.
The Snoooooooz drive home..with the Kid at the controls.'
Steady on Kid you'll end up crashing the car. Or maybe you ve got a chauffeur.
Saw him at a Radio 1 roadshow about 30 years ago. He was almost fun. If he can't even feign interest anymore, maybe its time to get out and give someone else a chance,The problem is he is a music jock, and he was put on at 1.am on Luxy because of that. Someone somewhere along the line considered him to have enough personality to sustain daytime programming. Many would disagree. The only time he sounds animated is when he is doing a show which has obviously been pre recorded, such as the Double Top Twenty Show.or the up to the hour ident. Maybe when its a pre record hes excited because he knows he'll be able to get out of the damn studio quickly.

You've got it in one! It is boring but when he first started on Afternoons I thought he was exciting and he had something intresting to say. I liked it when he mentions Producer Simon. I've noticed he doesn't mention him as much.

Carlos was better on the Smooth Drive Home. They get Pat Sharp to cover Carlos' and Kids shows. Do Smooth NW have a cover jock? They used to have Chris Best and Ricky Kirby covering some overnight shows.

every now and again i stumble on smooth...everytime the dj/presenter whatever sounds bored out of their minds..links of no relevance, talking about some shocking daytime tv show and going on for ever about nothing without a backing track to at least give them some pace..oh how i bet a few of these djs wish they could be 'rocking the tower' once again instead of not knowing if they are in london or manchester or wherever!who ever decided that this kind of style is what people want...coz its not for me.

I'm sure I once heard him doing German language programmes for the German service of Radio Luxembourg !

I was back listening to Smooth today as I can't tolerate Dermot on Radio 2 any longer

Carlos gives a good show for a Saturday afternoon and some really good music.
