Daryl Denham in for the ''Kid''.I think Deham's got even less to say than Jensen, and that's saying something,Why does Denham always sound like he's got something wrong with his teeth?
Oh,and memo to Jensen,Its DENHAM. not DENMAN,as I plainly heard you say the other week.

OH..cheap shot,,Denham plays Randy Crawford 'Rainy Night in Georgia' and just back announces it with ''she's Randy -on Smooth Radio.'' Denham.if that's the best you can do in half an hour on a quasi national station.you should just give up. Very very poor indeed,

And what gig do you currently have "up to the vocal"??

If it's not bigger than a quasi national station I think you should give up posting such dumb comments, don't you??

Just an observation on an open forum,THAT'S ALL.No need to be so rude.

What a mess Steve Collins has made of this smooth Radio,Gavin McCoy struggled to make the London version work but at least it sounded different to Magic and Heart and nearer to over 50s targetted radio angle

I've not heard much of Daryl on Smooth, but I used to like him on Heart and Virgin in the early 2000's. I guess he's had to tone his act down though, as features like 'Seaside Hotel Independent Television - S.H.I.T.V', don't really work on Smooth!!

''Picnics.parks, and ice cream''. is a summer strapline voiced by a female at Smooth. What utter twaddle. It means absolutely nothing. They are still peddling the same old playlist.and same old shows.Meaningless.You might as well have some jerk saying ''wirecutters.museums and egg sandwiches''

Would someone please tell me why Smooth still send out weekly listener surveys of new music when 99% of what is played nowadays is oldies? I find myself voting not familiar to most of the tracks nowadays.

I did email them from the website a few weeks ago but no one at the station bothered to respond.

GMG along with other groups seem to work with record companies to promote new artists and music, Smooth and Magic are good stations to reach over 30s and many listeners enjoy discovering new music. Smooth also had new artist sessions.

Looks like Global perhaps think older listeners do not like new music and might be preparing to migrate Smooth with Gold to become a classic hits format, if they get the go ahead to keep all the GMG stations?

except for Simon Bates I have now switched off Smooth.
Bland repetitive disinterested sounding presenters. I don't know when a gold merger is taking place (or even if) but it can hopefully only improve it

I thought it was a very good show from Blackpool. Simon has always been good doing OB's during the days at Radio1.

Andi Peters has landed a new Sunday show.

Just thought I'd get in there before someone posts the gushing press release about how much he's looking forward to recording a few VT links - er sorry, spending his Sundays with the Smooth listeners.

I wonder if he's replacing David Prever Or Emma B? Is it Sunday Lunch or Mornings as it says in the link? David covering Breakfast this week. He's a busy boy with Oxford and 3CR. Paul Hollins is covering David this weekend.

Not listed as yet on website. Does that mean David Prever only does Saturdays?

How many more times are Smooth going to play that hacked
version of 10cc's 'I'm Not in Love'? They must have cut it to about just over three minutes, and it includes the WORST edit of any song I've ever heard on any radio station.Look Smooth.all your listeners know exactly how this CLASSIC goes.and know it's true lengh,If you think your listeners will lose interest if the full version is played. then just don't play the song in the first place.Simples.The edit is an abortion.

I messaged Dave Brown regarding this a few weeks ago he explained that it is the actual radio edit supplied to radio stations. He said he'd look into it and if need be change the version theat they use. Happily, since my message, Smooth 70s now plays the proper full version - much kinder to everyone's ears. As an aside, Andi Peters played the full proper version this morning on his new Smooth Radio show. No rubbishy edit so maybe this marks the end of the staion using the horrible radio edit version. Hope so.

It may to some people seem that this is a rather trivial thing to comment on but as poster "up to the vocal" states, "The edit is an abortion. and I wholly agree!

I don't, I really enjoy the station. Listen to it most of the time, the other station I enjoy is JazzFM.
