Public page is still missing. Can't see how more music fits the lifestyle requirements either.

A touch of deja vu with this post, I think!

In Ofcom’s Change of Control review they said

Quote:
“ The “lifestyle orientated speech” required by the Formats was delivered mainly through presenter chat, but also through regular travel news, weather forecasts, sports news bulletins, business news bulletins, entertainment news bulletins and regular guest interviews at 11.25 on weekday mornings.”

http://licensing.ofcom.org.uk/binari...ooth_Radio.pdf

Apart from guest interviews they are still delivering all that from what I've heard, although there is of course less presenter chat.

I really hope presenters walk and speak out against just how much global has ruined good radio! I for one will not be listening to that rubbish again

Listened this morning, feel so sorry for Simon Bates..
the humour has gone, he did play a great Golden Hour.
Who was on at 10am this morning, I didn't hear the presenter at all, so I switched over to Smooth 70's.(not for much longer after sunday).
I have listened to Smooth since day one, and its a shame its going down the drains, talking of advertising, not many adverts now, and not much talking from the DJs either.
boo hoo
the music is getting worst,
They used to play a lot of Paloma Faith, and now nothing.

He's flavour of the month with Radio 2. Don't give him airing on Smooth.

Funny, because suffolkblue's been moaning constantly for the past 3 days that there are too many ads.

From everything I've read this week, Global are doing exactly the right thing with Smooth, because as everyone in the industry knows if the DS anoraks don't like something, it's got to be a winner.

Smooth's finally being dragged into the 21st century - now they just need to put the dinosaur that is Real out of its misery.

It is funny how nearly all the 'professionals' have secret accounts on here though lol

For me its very poor now due to no interaction a very very poor playlist. I don't mind global but why such tight playlists esp on gold and now smooth. As I type this I have just switched it on and surprise surprise Rod Stewart for the 2nd time today singing I don't.want to talk.about it. Come on guys why the crap dire short tight playlists. If I was the dj I would get sick of playing the same crap everyday. I would complain to Ofcom but what's the point they love global. oh and mote adds FFS.

Felt sorry for Lynn Parsons this morning thought she sounded very uneasy normally she has a nice patter when linking the songs but today she sounded as boring as a Heart presenter with all the coming up next multitrack stuff. Turned over to Ken Bruce sounding like he was enjoying himself and playing a better choice of music.
Really think I have had it now with Smooth five days of this is enough. Its very sad I've listened daily since they appeared on the national DAB in Norfolk.

..

I'll bet he has the dreaded play list, a computer, and the Myriad play out system.

All he has to do is press a few buttons and waffle between the tracks. Somebody else probably put together the play list.

I think music radio has lost it's soul.

How long does it take for presenters to get bored with this kind of thing ?

I detest play lists put together by people who haven't a clue about music radio.

Paul Hollins presents Smooth Movie Songs from 6-8pm on Saturday. Followed by four hours of Pete Waterman. That means no more Motown or Andy Peebles. On Sunday Paul Hollins has a Smooth Soul Classics show from 8pm.

That accounts for 10 hours of the required 12 specialist, so there must be another 2 hours somewhere over the weekend.

That's me too. And how much like gold is smooth sounding. Compare my radio will make intersting reading soon. I bet there must be at least 1000 tracks dropped if not more.

Well there's the Gold connection, then. David does six days a week, already. I wonder whether the Sunday night show will be recorded.
