Requested my PAC a week ago and after two phone calls still haven't received it. I was told on both occasions I would have it within 48 hrs.

Any suggestions on how I can progress this now? This is the first time I've ported a number.

Call them again and tell them that ofcom rules state that they have to provide your PAC within 48 hours of the request.
It worked for me, they gave me the PAC over the phone, by SMS and then I got a letter.

I switched from Vodafone to O2 a few weeks ago and they just gave it to me there and then.

Another day, another broken promise. they phoned me to see if I would stay with them, but they can't match an internet deal I found. They told me I would have my PAC today by text, still not received it. This is the third time they have lied to me, twice they said I would have it within 48 hours. This is now over a week and is beyond a joke.

Did you try quoting the ofcom rules at them? It certainly worked for me after they gave me the runaround. Call them back and demand the code - it's probably already there in front of them! Mine was generated a day after I originally called them. They are valid for 30 days so you can tell when they are generated by the expiry.

After I got the code, I only had one retentions call. I did tell him I wasn't interested and not to call that number again.

Hi Jim Casey

I'm part of the Vodafone Web Relations team and am here to answer any questions you may have or simply just to help.

I'm sorry to hear about the problems you've been having in getting your PAC. Once the request has been actioned on your account, the PAC is generated and should be text to you within 48 hours and sometimes also sent in the post.

As you've not had any notification yet I'd like to check the details for you. If you can email us using the link below; please include MMM135 in the subject field so that the email comes directly through to my team, along with the URL of this page and your username and we'll be in touch as soon as possible.

Hope this helps and I look forward to speaking to you soon.

All the best,

Finally got my PAC today. Suddenly appeared on the system when i said I was escalating it to a formal complaint. Nine working days it took and told 48hrs is only an estimate to provide the PAC.

Due to their delays my new provider can't complete the transfer until Monday. So overall because of Vodafone it has taken nearly two weeks to transfer my number. I've written to a newspaper to see if they will pick this up to make sure Vodafone comply with ofCom regulations in the future.

Notice how customer services pops up on here all helpful. Any complaint via phone or their own forums would probably have ended in fobbing off or myseriously vanishing threads. Glad I got away from them.

I had to pay an early termination fee to get out of my contract, plus a part month, but for some reason are incapable of billing it in one go.
I had an email to tell me about these bills, but I can't see them as they cancelled my online billing/account when I left them.
DUH!!!!

Just out of interest, what's the expiry date on the PAC you got?
