Rebecca - the new Sade?
I love Rebecca's voice, she reminds me very much of Sade, when she came on the scene in the 80's.
I hope this show allows her to show her sultry side rather than expecting powerhouse performances like Leona and Alexandra et al. |

Yes, she made me think of Sade too. Understated which makes a nice change from the belters.

No where near as good as Sade
You can see from a mile off they want to make her into a Ella/Simone/Billie Holiday type figure but she is either not confident (or pretending to be) to be any where near them I dont doubt with 2 or three years vocal coaching she could become a good recording artist but as for performing I see diddly squat Now I await song choices like ...Wild Is The Wind, I Put a Spell On You, Summertime, Cry Me A River, Everytime We Say Goodbye, The Man I love Actually with the fashion now being big for the MadMen era a few good torch/jazz songs may just hit the button Remember last year Glee was just comming into fashion and look at the winner we got |

Don't know about that but she'll win, imo. She's not being talked about at all a la Alex and Joe, her mentor is Cheryl and nobody other than Cheryl can win.

I don't think she sounds like Sade at all. I think it's just her classy beauty and elegance that makes you think of Sade.

yeah I think it's her appearance that is Sade-like, along with how she's dressing .. vocally Sade is more smooth, Rebecca's vocals are sharper like Etta James with more vocal gymnastics than Sade |

I don't even remember which one was Rebecca.
She obviously isn't very original or stands out. |

I loved her and thought her very orignal and sweet as well, classy. She didnt really remind me of Sade which is good as i find her bloody boring to be honest. Can see her singing Bille Holliday stuff and in jazz clubs.

She obviously isn't very original or stands out. I like the slow-burn, eventual winners. ![]() Strangely there was only Joe last year that, early on, appeared a realistic winner. There are one or two this year imo. Rebecca deserves a recording contract. Honestly, compared to Stacey last year Rebecca is miles better. |

She has a smoky jazz/blues feel as well as an easy listening vibe that Norah Jones proved was so popular. I think by tapping in to the Mad Men zeitgeist also will make her stand out from the others. I don't think she is an X Factor winner but will probably be in work for a long time as a result of being on the sohw- she is the only one from any series that I can imagine being on Later with Jools Holland at some point.

I think she has great potential with vocal coaching. I hope this year, finalists can stay true to their preferred genre and style rather that do bloody Abba weeks!!!! |

She's just lovely - lush, soothing, smoky old soul voice, but very current as well (doesn't sound exactly like Norah, Corinne, Amy but would do well with any of their material).
She won't be up for much choreography & shenanighans but neither was Leona & she did OK. Finalist, no question. |

The new Sade?
Lets wait and see if she sticks around for a while before we start throwing these comparisons around. |

I don't think she is remotely like Sade in either look or sound.

I like this girl too, but can't imagine her like Sade - a little of the look maybe, but not the voice.
I agree she could win, she's the only one that stands out as a winner to me. |
