Future UNIT Stories - What Do You Think?

Now that they have worked with the 10th Doctor twice, I would definately like to see more from UNIT in nu-who, with or without Nicholas Courtney (preferably with!)

However, this is not just some fanw*nky wish; I think that the inclusion of UNIT now and again would provide a more varied range of stories, a la the classic series. Plus, I know that doc 11 would look perfect beside Bessie!

What are everyone's thoughts on UNIT nowadays? Does anybody else pine for their return? And what of the Brig & Bessie? Future storyline ideas?

With your title I thought you were going to suggest a UNIT story set in the 22nd Century or something

Not sure how big a fan Moffat is of UNIT but I'm sure we will see them again at some point.

From what I've read
Spoiler
some of the SJA story with the 11th Doctor is set on a UNIT base.

I'm hoping they'll build a replacement for the Valiant at some point...
Maybe call it something like...ooooh....Defiant?

Perhaps it should be orbital this time?
Our first defence platform with the Torchwood (Christmas Day, 2005) weapon on it.

Sounds like a premise for a spin off tbh!

Seriously, nobody thinks 11 would look great with Bessie?

I know this would be a bit anoraky but how about having 11 attending a UNIT reunion party at which the Brig, Capt Yates and Sgt Benton are also present??

As long as they kept it sort of realistic like UNIT was with John Pertwee and Patrick Troughton. No giant flying aircraft carrier things for instance. Oh and they were sort of secret then too.

I think that UNIT may be able to have a bigger prominence in the future whenever they do resurface in the future. With Torchwood now taking a very different path, there is a more distinct role for UNIT in Nu-Who and there will undoubtedly come a time when they are needed once more. Of course, we can but hope for a Nu-Who UNIT story that doesn't involve a massive global attack...that was done (rather well) in the Series 4 Sontaran story. Maybe a more conspiracy-lain story instead

Or a modern day version of the classic "base under siege" type stories

That was great. I'd love to see it again even if it was only as a tip of the hat.

Did the Doctor really hover over a sleeping tramp, as recounted in the book?
