He is so competitive. Ok I know he is a sportman, but I have never seen another sportsman be that competitive. He was really doing the talk. Almost like he would step on someone to win the game! Taking it far too seriously in my opinion. I was thinking that he probably should not come across as being that competitive on scd as he will not win! It's public votes, and the public go for personality as well as ability. Keep that mouth shut Gav!

He came accross as a total arrogant cock tonight! (he seemed OK in prev eps). I think hes gonna have a shock with Strictly- and I suspect hes gonna be in for a shock!

Charlotte said on C5 tonight that when he came back from that he changed and that's why she decided to split.

I haven't seen this week's programme yet - but Gavin's competitive side showed last week in the immunity task when he appeared to be winding up Shane.

Gamesmanship is par for the course in sport - but so far on SCD he hasn't appeared in the least aggressive, in fact quite the contrary.

I remember the second series when Aled and Brendan used to bait each other in a jocular way - that was fun and I miss the lighthearted banter.

Year by year the show seems to have become more and more serious.

He took a sabbatical on compassionate grounds due to his 'mental state of mind,' and there is an ongoing conflict with his club Ospreys. Gavin wants to leave - Ospreys want him to see out his contract. Strangely some of his dressing room colleagues have described him as arrogant - although imo he's yet to show signs of that on SCD. There was also some disgruntlement over his selection to model the new Welsh rugby kit at the launch.

He's actually planning a return with the Barbarians v South Africa in December unless he's still in Strictly.

December4th actually and I would guess there is no if he is still in about it ! He has accepted an invitation , one of the most coveted invitations in British rugby. I can't imagine his already very low stock in rugby circles being enhanced if he dropped out because he is dancing !!
I cannot see how is he is going to combine training for SCD with regaining match fitness for playing with the Barbarians .
He might be fit and have strength but that is not the same as being match ready.

Some disgruntlemnt !!!! major problems with a 100ft high poster of Gav in the new kit when he hasn't played for 18months let alone played internationally .

Huge disappointment with the WRU , slap in the face for the rest of the team .

Why hasn't he played ? he was injured ,a knee injury , quite a nasty one ,and then he requested time off from the game .
He was allowed that time by Ospreys and agreed to take no pay .

Now he is apparently planning to sue Ospreys for non payment of wages .

Most of his dressing room colleagues regard him as arrogant and there has always been friction over him in the team .Basically he needs to decide if he wants to be a rugby player or a celebrity , and he has needed to do that for some years. The comment was made to me 3 years ago by a very eminent ex Wales international

You can only really be cocky if you have any talent and I am not sure that he has at dancing (on the very small bits we have seen).

Plenty of time yet - the show has hardly started

arddunol, he's only taking on the Ospreys about non-payment on legal advice as a way of persuading them to release him from his contract. There's no way he would burn his boat with the Ospreys. He's an incredible rugby talent and I can't wait to see him back on the pitch. I actually hope he is useless at dancing and is eliminated early on but, unfortunately, his will to win will probably make him very competitive. He's not arrogant, he's very self confident when it comes to rugby. His succession of injuries knocked that confidence and made it difficult for him to stay in the game.

That's interesting. Really looking forward to see how he gets on on SCD, and not long to go now!
