Didn't they start filming this series almost a year ago and then sit on it? I guess there's a danger of the people involved in a show getting up to no good when they don't bother to broadcast the show for months and months.

If you want an informed industry commentator's view on Amscreen from 2 weeks ago, rather than someone in armchair, plz look here. If anything, they are definately on the up.

Search that site if you want more info on Amscreen and some on Yasmina too.

Whilst, I'd agree, Sugar could have been a major player if he'd continued on the upwards direction he was going in the 80's. That he isn't, is IMHO down to him being his own worst enemy. However, hasbeen? No, not yet. He stepped down from his companies last year due to 'conflict of interests' with him working for the then govt. Claude Littner took over as caretaker. Now, Sugar is back as chairman of AmsHold, the holding company of the group. Good luck getting meaningful figures from them, though in no way is it as convoluted (read tax evading devious) as the spagetti nest Branson has built up.

I'm no fan of Sugar, or Amscreen, but you need to try and be fair I think.”

Will this do you:

It was due to be broadcast in the spring but was postponed because of the general election and Lord S's link with the the then government.

According to this article (on one of the contestants getting into trouble) filming started on 10/9/09:

Is it still Mark Halliley doing the narration for series 6?

Ah, didn't see your reply till now

Sorry, that's the wrong company! That's the one Sugar bought when it got in trouble (for quite a while it seems). So bought it cheap.

This is Sugar's Amscreen, note the directors, note 2008

It's called buying a dying company and turning it around. He did exactly that with the health centre part a year later.

Memo to self: check to see if there's a separate thread set up for each episode (as was done recently for Dragon's Den).

Watching Sid (Sid James, that is) especially with P. Morgan, I wonder whether he's just a bit bored with life.
He delights in cycling 16 miles a day.
He delights in watching the American "Law and Order"
You don't need millions to copy his lifestyle.
Still, his show is quite interesting viewing, if only just to see how idiotic some people are.
Go Sid, go.

Lol, I'd love to know who writes these opening lines. SO cringeworthy!! My favourite one was the irish girl from a couple years back who reckoned she was "one of the top five salespersons in Europe"!!!
