Anyone ever thought of spreading a fake Who rumor?

It'd be fun!

We make up a really believable one then spread it around the net so everyone has heard of it and see if in an interview Moffat has to deny it. If he did, then you can see how powerful (Or not.) We are. Wouldn't it be great though to see Moffat talk about a rumor you made?

Spoiler

Maybe PM me if we should make one. Don't want people to know though. Wait, then how do we delete it again to stop people working it out? I don't know.

I heard "Substitute" was originally written for the Rolling Stones!

stcoop claimed to have invented the bit about Martha being married to Mickey... but then it turned out to be real! Did RTD get the idea from stcoop? Frightening thought.

See? Imagine the power we could have! Or not. But still.

Does that mean SM might get the idea of doing an episode where the Doctor gets tortured and has his eyes and mouth stitched shut?
EDIT: Which I'm sure no-one on here would mind as long as he wasn't moaning about the Time War!

I swear I heard rumours a while back (like around Series 3) that Katherine Jenkins was to be making an appearance in the show. Now look where we are...

And the idea of a rumour-mill so intense it leads to reality???? Fans of The Rani must feel rather let down after all these years

DWB used to often print rumours as news, such as the
return of Jago and Litefoot in "The Opera of Doom", or Colin Baker's debut being called "The Doctor's Wife".

I'm still waiting to see the series that David Burton filmed in the early 90s. He even blagged a sponsored car with "David Burton: The New Doctor Who" signwritten down the side.

Karen McCoy's animated series sounded fun. She even attended conventions with her storyboards and regaled fans with stories of how BBC Execs called her work "state of the art Doctor Who!"

Ah, those were the days when bullshitters made a real effort. These days, it's much too easy for anyone with an Internet connection to post a whopping lie on a forum.

NEWS JUST IN.....

Sally Sparrow is to return in a companion role for the latter half of Series 6 to spice things up in the TARDIS. Unfortunately Carey Mulligan is fully booked but a reliable source has confirmed that Showrunner Steven Moffat is to write in an ingenius plot whereby the character shockingly regenerates into Russell T Davies. It is also speculated that said regeneration may in fact be the big cliffhanger we are being teased with.

RTD is said to be 'chuffed' about his new acting role in the show whilst Moffat has yet to comment on this revelation. A spokesperson at the BBC has stated 'We do not comment on the nature of Doctor Who plotlines so in advance of transmission'.

Spoiler
Wonder if this will catch on

Maybe we should start off a rumor thats believable

How about just Russel is having a cameo? Or Moffat? Or maybe that MS is playing an old man but hesin makeup? Actually, that could work. Next series, in MArk Gatisses episode. Matt Smith, in makeup, will be playing an old Professor who teaches at a college.

See? You could believe that.

(Alright, you can't )

How about the return of Sally Sparrow mid series, who will travel with the Doctor before being "sensationally" killed by the Daleks for the mid season shocker?

I know some newspapers who might print that

(No Sun-bashing please, the Mirror and the Star would love to print it too )

I never got the intense Sun-bashing, they are far more accurate than the other red-tops and their ratio of Correct stories to incorrect stories is quite a positive one.

Somebody who agrees with me! I never thought I'd find that on here!

Me too, The Sun may be wrong sometimes, but they have also come up with the biggest scoops

^^^This And at least they tend to know what they are talking about. The amount of embarassing plot errors I have heard elsewhere is rather large

I am a Sun basher...and to tell you the truth I am proud...as I don't like the way they report....

yeah its true that sometimes they get things right, but that is because they have been knicking it of forums.....but my Who related hatred for them started when they started the horrid rumour that Freema had been axed...yeah right that is why she is not only was written into series 4, but also TW, and would have been in SJA and TW COE if she had been available....yes that is what happens when you get axed!!!!

At the time, they found that Freema was leaving at the end of the series, and she had been far from popular at the time, so it was only natural to assume that she had been axed.

Such assumptions are annoying, but that was the way it looked at the time

There was no announcemnt....so they obviously found out from spoilers.....but then she never really left, yes her number of episodes in series 4 were less than three....but she was still there....which the sun then twisted and made a horrid claim, not excatly fair on an actress who is just getting noticed....and she was popular with the general public.....but as always the sun and other such newspapers like to twist things....

Can't remember which newspaprer it was...but didn't one of them also make the stupid claim that Matt wasn't as popular as DT just because of the ratings???? When we all know that is load of rubbish.....

I think that was either the Mail or the Mirror. The Sun have stuck by their stance that MS is the best thing to happen to Who since sliced bread

As for Freema, it wasn't really fair of them. But as there was no official conformation from the beeb, they made the assumption that the character had been dropped. A fari assumption, given that they had no knowledge of her series 4 appearances. But fair on Freema? No.

Sometimes, that's the way newspapers have to be. Otherwise we'll find out how little they actually know beyond the facts

How about - The BBC can't afford to commision new scripts so they are re-making Classic Who with modern special effects.

But what if Moffat secretly uses this forum and now knows of this fan power plan?
