Got a new fish tank around my birthday last month, 200 litres I was over the moon to upgrade from my old one. Turns out, worst nightmare. Since I introduced the old fish, and new fish, several of the new ones have died but the last few days have been the toughest, despite all my best efforts to combat 'new tank syndrome' and an array of problems that have plagued it, my year-old red tail shark Jett died on Sunday, and his companion, my angelfish Luigi, brought home on the same day, joined him this evening. Absolutely heartbroken, any of the others could have gone and I wouldn't be quite so affected, but those two had a special place in my heart, they had so much personality.

My cat Bella came up and gave me a hug shortly afterwards. Probably just a coincidence, but it was what I needed, she never fails to cheer me up

Reminds of us a few years ago.We had tropical fish tank with loads of beautiful and it was thriving well, my husband cared and cleaned for them. He had his faves in there, a little shark named Sammy being one of them.

We'd had them for 2 yrs and all was well, we decided to introduce little newbies. Within a short period, every other fish got ill and died. When it finally caught with Sammy and he died, my husband vowed he would never replace them. True to his word, it's been over 12 yrs since he said it.

He was really heartbroken.

I miss my cat Enzo who passed away on the 10th Febuary 2012 at 16:05
He went to sleep in my hands, after 16 wonderful years. He was an amazing cat, never scrached me or hissed once, a truly amazing friend who will be sadly missed by his family.

Made this as a tribute but it wont stay there for long due to copyright...

Awww what a truly, gorgeous memory video. Made me have tears streaming down my face. So sad that he has gone, but judging by the photos he was one loved and treasured member of your family. You can tell by his face that he knew how much you all loved him. We have lots of pics like that of our cats, because everyone on here knows exactly how you felt about Enzo, as we all do about our beloved pets. Photos tell such great stories of how much love we have for our pets. My phone is full of cat photos, and they are always my profile pic on my facebook and my phone pic! I do have two sons as well by the way LOL!!!

It takes a lot to make me cry, but this did. I don't have enough photos of Winnie to make a video, I wish I'd taken more pictures.

RIP Enzo.

Thank you for your thoughts on Enzo.

I have just got a new cat I could not face going home without Enzo being there. I miss Enzo soo much.

I have been crying for a week now, I just cant stop. Wife said we should go and look at cats. I ended up taking this one home, need a fitting name though.

My cat Piggie became very ill very quickly on 17th Feb, she went from a normal happy cat to completely senile within the space of a few hours, I thought she was just getting old (she was 16) I took her to the PDSA the next morning and they told me she was suffering from heart failure, they advised me to send her to sleep.
I am heart broken, she was my baby, I was with her almost every day for 16 years and I hate being in the flat without her, there is a real temptation to get another cat but I know I need to grieve for her,
I will miss her forever xxxx

I just wanted to add a note to day the PDSA were brilliant, the staff and the vets treated me with great kindness in what was a very difficult time for me.

With much love to all the members who are suffering a loss xxx

I lost my dog Sammy on Monday. She was 17 years old and my bestest best friend in the world!
Sadly she was on a slow decline for a while but then she took a really bad turn for the worse and couldn't eat and was in pain. I hated making that decision but I knew when her health failed so quickly it was time.

Like others I wish to thank the PDSA staff for the wonderful compassion and understanding they gave me. Without them I would have lost her sooner so thank you to them for giving her that extra year of life.

I miss you Sammy, my Puppy girl. I miss you so much. You were a wonderful kind sweet dog who loved me unconditionally. Never had a bad bone in your body and was always gentle around those unsure of dogs. And kind towards all other animals. You were my life, my sun and my heart and soul. The world is a little dimmer without you and half of me is gone too. The pain will never go away but at least I know your pain has.

<3 I LOVE YOU FOREVER MY BEAUTIFUL SAMMY! <3

I had to have my budgie pts last week. She was only 4 but had a tumour which she had lived ok with for 4 months but the last two weeks she started going downhill. Taking her to the vets is up there with one of the worst things I have had to do even though I knew it was for the best. I was in bits. I hope to goodness I don't have to go through that with one of my cats. I do miss her and the house seems so quiet without her squawking and whistling. One of my cats seem to notice she was missing yesterday as he went up to the sideboard and climbed up to where the cage used to be and had a good sniff around. Both cats were always very wary of the budgie and kept their distance.

RIP little B xx
