My darling Mabbs (age 17) was put to sleep last Friday after falling ill with kidney failure.

He was the most beautiful, placid cat and didn't have a days illness in his life.

For the last year of his life he was unable to live with me so spent his last year with a wonderful foster family who lived nearby and looked after him and loved him like their own.

When the vet said the kindest thing to do would be to put him to sleep we knew it was for the best. It wouldn't have been right to let him suffer.

RIP Mabbs. Always in my heart.

Our much loved Archie, a deerhound/greyhound cross was put to sleep on Friday. He was epileptic and had a large amount of fits the day before. He will be much missed as he was a lovely, friendly dog that everyone who met him loved too. He's finally got some much needed sleep - he would be awake for days and days, with me sleeping downstairs with him. Sleep on my lovely Archie.

Tigger a big beautiful handsome ginger cat that I moved from the road after a nasty human had run you over and left you. I know your human family are missing you heaps too. Tigger was 5and a half too they had him since 6 wks old as well. You one cat that even though I didn't know you will ever leave my heart.

It's two years today since my beautiful girl died. It feels like longer to be honest. I've been okay today, I had a little cry yesterday though.

Here she is as a kitten - http://i40.tinypic.com/30tjj3c.jpg

Thank you Maisey.

I can't believe that it's two years either. Sometimes it feels like longer. I'm feeling a little emotional about it all today for some reason, despite the fact that it isn't a significant day.

Take care everyone

My friend and best pal "Kipper", my little cat, who I had since he was a kitten, 18 years old, has passed away. Complications from heart/kidney and liver problems. I just took him to the vet earlier this evening and he said there was nothing he could do and it was kinder to let him go.
Im cant believe how awful I feel....cant say anything else. just I'll always remember him and I'm hurting like anything now.
Thanks guys for listening and all of you who have lost an animal have my uttermost sympathies.

I had to have my darling 1 year old lab put to sleep on Tuesday. She was only 16 months old and i feel so cheated not to have had longer with her. She got very poorly after complications with the abdominal surgery from neutering - even the vet said she had never seen a case like it, but i still feel so guilty for having her neutered in the first place.
We are all devastated,my 3 young girls miss her like crazy and there hasn't been a day where I haven't broke down and cried. She was much loved but she will always be in my heart. Love you Jessie xx

It will be a year ago this Sunday (29th) since my beloved Border Collie cross Jess was put to sleep. Although it is almost a year ago I am still struggling to come to terms with her loss, especially with it being Christmas this week. It was Christmas Day last year when she fell ill with what was later found out to be a tumour on her liver. I'm hoping I'm not going to be on my own at the weekend otherwise I'll probably end up a total wreck.

My guinea pig Brownie died today. He was nearly 6.

We've been keeping guinea pigs in our family for 15 years and Brownie was by far the friendliest and the tamest we've ever had. Since he was the only boy in the last litter he has lived in my room, on his own, his whole life. And because of that he's always had loads of human attention (from me) and he was such a great companion.

He was fine until Sunday when he suddenly stopped eating and drinking. I feel like I've failed him. When I saw the way he looked this morning I knew he wasn't going to last the day, I hated seeing him suffer the way he was but there was nothing I could do

Sorry to vent

Lucky was lucky for sure to have been found by you! I'm sure he wouldn't have held anything against you, but instead glad of a loving owner.

Hope things are a bit better

My rabbit the white one in this video passed away today.
She was old though must be at least 9 or 10.
Yesterday she was just laying there though still eating.
The vet also said she was getting old last week.

I think the other 2 are about 6.

My 2nd and final piggy Hans was put to sleep earlier tonight. He had been poorly for a while. Had pneumonia back in June, so had him on liquid food, he seemed to recover, but could never put back on the weight he had lost. Friday gone we realised he had lost the use of his back legs, he also had a growth on his paw and was getting cataracs in his right eye. Also his impaction was getting worse. The guy was a fighter, wouldn't give up and continued to try and enjoy life up to the very end. Spent most of my time looking after him, fussing over him, moving everything around for him and when we realised the medication never worked and took him back to the vets, I knew it was the end.

Completely devastated, but he's in a better place now and he's re-united with our first piggy John who sadly passed on in May 2012.

And with a tinge of a smile on my face, I can say that for the first time, I actually saw Hans Gruber outlive John McClane (they were their full names)

Hans is getting cremated and will be put in his box side by side with John in his box and will both have pride of place on my bookshelf.

RIP Hans - you were a legend down here, and you'll be a legend up there!

Our beloved 13 year old Greyhound was put to sleep tonight, I'm posting here because I just need something to say I guess, I'm looking at his bed, I open the fridge and see his food, his bowls are still in the kitchen. Man, we will miss him so much, appearing at the bottom of our bed early morning and jumping up for cuddles. Devastated
