Thank You David.

The house seems so quiet this morning. Cane was always the 'noisy' one. He always let us know when he wanted his breakfast, dinner and supper. So to be standing there, sorting out the bowls and not hearing him talking to me, is oh so strange. The others are not their normal selves either, they all seem a little subdued.

He was a right character was our Cane, we're going to miss him so much.

Come on mods - pin it please so others can add to it. Non-one will know it's here if it slips off the front page.

RIP to my beautiful Charlie Cat who was PTS October 25th. I still miss you very much and can't believe you're gone. You'd have hated the snow we've had and I hope you're in peace now in cat heaven.

It's only fitting that in a pet forum, we should have a memorial thread pinned

Please mods. So many of us would like to remember, and share with others, our dearly departed loved ones...

It would be better to have a sub forum, entitled "going, going, gone!" Especially for sick and dead pets.

At the moment people looking for support and sympathy can get lost in "pets".

Having one big thread simply would not work. it would be hard to follow and I fear people looking for urgent advice and comfort would not get it.

For my beloved Scrap (PoshPaws) September 1980 ~ August 1990.

My teenage companion, he was always there for me, he was a stray who should not have lived, he had cat flu and enteritis and my mom stayed up for nights feeding him with a pipette and cream and saved him. There was always a special bond between them then. Posh was a lover, not a fighter and well known by all the neighbours. My handsome lad, my battlecat, you passed away peacefully one sunny afternoon and lie now under your favourite tree. I'll never forget you, you were a very, very special cat xxxxxx

Also my love to Roly, Holly sweetpea, Lady Penny, the first greyhound I ever met and loved me to bits ~ I love you all and know I'll see you at Rainbow Bridge xxxxxxxxxxxxxx

How sympathetic of you.

It's a memorial thread not for advice or comfort although FMs can of course respond to others over the loss of their pet. People specifically wanting advice or comfort from other FMs should do a separate post.

This is a lovely idea. When I lost my previous dog I(we)were so heartbroken .
I really wished there had been some bereavement counselling or similar you could get in touch with.

Send my best comfort to all those suffering at this time.
God bless

I've just had a call from my closest friend, her beloved border collie died yesterday.
My friend is in total shock as she'd taken her out for her walk and she'd eaten her food as usual, my friend noticed that she laid down on the floor and the other dog was whining around her, my friend picked her up and laid her on her bed, she then just sighed then passed away. Its only been a few weeks since the sister had to be pts.......So sad.

Aww RIP Kitkat. I'll tell my little Neo to look out for Kitkat at the bridge and they can have a play together.

So sorry for your loss, us forum members all know how you feel lindy. Hope you're ok x

Last night we had to have our beautiful Great Dane put to sleep. He was only 4 and it was very sudden. We shall miss him so much. I hope that he has found lots of other dogs to play with.
