I've asked for this to be sticky. I've tried alerting this time, as contacting forum support previosly has had no response.

RIP
Blackie the stray cat that wouldn't let anyone else approach. My Penny the dog that got me through my teenage years, as someone who would never judge me and just loved me. Basil and Matty who I still miss though sometimes you open a door and a cat brushes past you and the three we've still got are all there. |

I've been reading the posts on here, I'm filling up though! Someone mentioned Rainbow Bridge, so I thought I'd copy & paste it here if that's OK.
Rainbow Bridge There is a bridge connecting heaven and earth It is called Rainbow Bridge because of its many colours Just this side of the Rainbow Bridge there is a land of meadows, hills, valleys with lush green grass When a beloved pet dies, the pet goes to this special place There is always food and water and warm spring weather The old and frail are young again Those who are maimed are made whole again They play all day with each other There is only one thing missing They are not with their special person who loved them on Earth So each day they run and play until the day comes when one suddenly stops playing and looks up ! The nose twitches ! The ears are up ! The eyes are staring ! And this one suddenly runs from the group ! You have been seen, and when you and your special friend meet, you take him or her into your arms and embrace your face is kissed again and again, and you look once more into the eyes of your trusting pet Then you cross the Rainbow Bridge together, never again to be separated Author Unknown www.petloss.co.uk I would also like to add my own boys: Wolfie, a German Shepherd x Collie, d 1985 aged 16 Sabre & Conan, two Yorkshire Terrier brothers, d 1996 aged 9 & 2003 aged 16 respectively Still miss them all loads. xx |

I am in tears reading this thread, but like the sentiment that you can put your remembrances on here.
RIP to my many cats over the years...........Edmund, Jasper, Burgess and McClain, Ginger (killed by a neighbour's lurcher) Henry (went missing two weeks before we moved 300 miles back to Sussex) and Baldrick. Special thoughts of my last 2 cats, Poppy, who died in my arms after a heart attack aged 16, and my dearest Thomas who left me heartbroken when he also had a heart problem and was put to sleep 18 months ago. I will probably not own any more cats as I have to travel to and from Germany frequently, but more importantly, I really don't want the heartache of losing any more dear friends. |

This is a prayer for Dogs..obviously it can be changed from she to he......beautiful.
![]() Dear Lord, please open your gates and call St. Francis to come escort this beloved companion across the Rainbow Bridge. Assign her to a place of honor, for she has been a faithful servant and has always done her best to please me. Bless the hands that send her to you, for they are doing so in love and compassion, freeing her from pain and suffering. Grant me the strength not to dwell on my loss. Help me remember the details of her life with the love she has shown me. And grant me the courage to honor her by sharing those memories with others. Let her remember me as well and let her know that I will always love her. And when it's my time to pass over into your paradise, please allow her to accompany those who will bring me home. Thank you, Lord, for the gift of her companionship and for the time we've had together. And thank you, Lord, for granting me the strength to give her to you now. |

Not mine, but the parents moogy, one of two sisters the other is still going strong.
http://www.imagebam.com/image/5e40ce126246404 Called Sam (short for Samantha) she died a couple of weeks ago. they were picked up from a rescue home, thier mum had died and they were very small, taken to the vets first day home, the vet was a bit nervous about them, they were both underweight, had fleas and worms and Sam had an eye infection. Vet care, love and attention they grew into a right couple of Duchesses. But poor Sam was always the unlucky one, any ailment a cat could get, she caught it. When she was four she was hit by a car, it was only fortune that dad was late home from work that he saw her lying by the road. Rush to vets. Lost an eye, broken jaw, and generally beaten about. Was a high 3 figure vets bill to sort her out. Later in life she had teeth trouble, according to the vet a result of the accident. Finally she developed a tumour, which was inoperable, the vet said initially she was fine in herself but would need medication, but would say when it was pointless to carry on with that. Her sister tended to bully her, but she was such a placid cat, and walk away, she was never happier than when new people turned up and she could turn on the charm, sit on them and leave hairs . When my, now OH came round for the first time they became inseperable, Sam would follow her everywhere, even sitting outside the loo waiting for her![]() She made it to thirteen, which strikes me as ironic. Now under a walnut tree in their garden, where she used to sit for hours watching the world. |

Our budgie Scoobie died on Monday, it was sad because it wasn't expected and he didn't actually look dead. I Know it sounds weird but he hadn't hurt himself when falling off his perch so he just looked like he was sleeping. He was old though and had a nice fun live - 8 years - which is supposedly good so he must have been somewhat happy and healthy.
RIP Scoobie |

RIP my Beautiful Tabitha. I feel so heart broken, I don't think I can ever invest so much love in pet again.
I brought her to the vet's today, took 10 minutes for her to die, the vet must have missed the vein, he left me and my friend with her but she was still alive when he came back and had to administer another injection (definitely hit the vein that time). Having said that, she was sedated, peaceful and comfortable during the first process and it gave me longer to cuddle her and repeat how much I love her. So it was a good death, she was comfortable and purring almost to the point of the first injection. She was still alert up until today but had stopped eating and repeated visits to the vets for IV hydration were taking its toll on her, she just wanted to be at home. She's been out in the garden the past few days, she always loved sunny weather, but she was getting weaker. Last night she barely moved. Just over two weeks ago I thought I had a healthy older cat. The vets always used to place her as much younger than she was because she was so beautiful and glossy. I thought she had a good few years left and I also thought I would have longer to prepare for her dying. The house and garden feel bereft without her, my other cat is confused. I love him but Tabitha was my special cat who I'd loved and nurtured since she was a kitten and who'd seen me through job changes and house moves and hard times during the past 16 years. I don't think I'll ever get over her loss. |

RIP Muffie
It's been 4 months but, I still miss her a lot. She was 16 so I'd had her since I was 5 but, at least she's no longer suffering.

We had to have our beautiful tabby cat PTS this morning. Bless him he kept getting Urinary Tract infections, the last one was just 6 weeks ago and he was so ill today that we and the vet decided it was the best thing for him. He was, at times a grumpy devil, but was always very vocal and I swear used to yell 'mum' when he wanted me. He was only 10 but had a good life, will miss you Teddy RIP xx
