Our beautiful dog - Honey was put to sleep today. Such a sad day for us. We had from a 6 week old puppy and she turned 18 last August.

Like all you other pet owners, she left paw prints on our hearts and a life time of memories. From meeting me and my sister at the school gates to assisting my on first job as a paper girl. (She even got a 50p tip and some chews one christmas from a friendly lady on the round)

God bless you Honey. we miss you greatly xxx

Sorry to hear of your loss

Our Hampster Hamish died the other day, not sure how old he was but at least three now, asleep next to Sophie our cat.

Thanks for your kind replies...still very upsetting to go from a 2 cat home to a no cat home in a couple of days..the dishes and beds are still around and there are 2 cat size dents under the bushes where they used to sleep...they were very loved and are now much missed xx

Aww that is terrible, when you see their bowls and things ie: toys......heartbreaking....perhaps after a little time of healing you'll get a couple of kitties..... Although they will never replace your babes.....it does help !

I feel for you we lost my lad today, he was SO loved and only 3 years old we had lots more years of love to give him,
It seems crazy to feel so sad over a cat, but I am not ashamed to say I sobbed my heart out this morning,
we share your grief,

I know the sadness, my darling Wally was PTS 18th March, knocked me back, my sister that died last year I took her two darling cats, one had to be pts just a short time after I took her home with me....I was devastated enough last year, then my Wally bless him one of the most gorgeous natured cats ever....I know so much how cat lovers feel when they lost their little girl/boy....its heartbreaking because also.....how do you tell them? It's their beautiful faces that we always picture and their lovely natures that we remember...I just hope your babe didnt suffer.....

I Also include all our pet members that have lost their babe...

Oh dear, I do feel for you..at least my girls were old, Saffi (20)was ready to go and Minou (17) had had a stroke which she never really recovered from, your boy was so young, we have just bought a liitle statue of a sleeping cat which we have placed over their grave and I went up to that corner of the garden today to chat to them and to sow some forget-me-not seeds...

I lost my beautiful cat kay 3 years today. It still bloody hurts. She was everyones baby We lost her too a RTA and still see the person who did it. If only i hadnt have left the door open that day it wouldnt have happened. She died in my arms on the way too the vets. I still have the clothes she died in but wont wear them. It was the week after her 2nd birthday. Her soul mate died 14 months later. He became ill and gave up. Even though i have other cats i miss my baby all the time.

It's so sad to read of all your pets. But it is nice to have somewhere to remember them, and share with others what wonderful animals we were lucky enough to have in our life.

My little Muppet was put to sleep last year. He really was my miracle cat. I came home one day to find him laying on the floor panting and in a real bad way. I took him to the emergency vet who did a chest x-ray and said there was so much fluid in his chest cavity it had completely crushed his heart and lungs. The vet said she would drain the fluid off but I really shouldn't expect him to make it through the night.

The next day I got a call from the vet to say he had responded really well and could come home, but I needed to be prepared for the fact he probably wouldn't live for more than a few days. But they started him on some medication and I brought him back a couple of days later for some tests. It was then that they told me he had heart failure and hyperthyroidism, and the prognosis was poor.

We spent the next few weeks going back and forth to the vets for check ups and every time Muppet confounded them by getting better and better. He was like a little old man, taking 5 tablets a day to keep him alive. And he had another two and a half happy years with me.

Then one day he started to struggle to breath again, and once again he had fluid drained. But this time the news was bad, it was lymph fluid, and there was nothing that could be done. Within a few days he was panting again, and I knew that this time I had to say goodbye.

But I am forever grateful to veterinary science, they gave me extra years with my sweet little boy that I was so lucky to have.

Muppet after his first trip to the vets, I thought I was going to lose him. But he pulled through.

My little boy, as I remember him.

sadly the other Labrador i dogsat for was put to sleep less than 6 week: after his sister.

He wasnt the same dog at all after Cassie went,he went very quiet.what my friend think happened is he had a stroke that brought on a fit that went on for nearly an hour before the vet arrived to put him to sleep as he just werent going out the fit.

RIP Josh my little furfriend will cya again some day.Least you back with cassie xxxxx

Still sometimes find hairs/whiskers of Sophie, thankfully our new cat Cleo keeps us busy, more talkative than Sophie so of course gets extra attention!

Any of you who have visted and or posted in the "Help! My cat is pregnant..." thread will know that sadly, one of Winnie's kittens died at six weeks old.

We started burying Badger yesterday. We'll finish the job tonight.

Two of the litter of stray kittens when too the bridge today. I called the boy teddy and the girl patches.
I tried so so hard to make your thrive. You gave me so much joy in the few days i had you both. Run free at the bridge you went with love and warmth and you will always be in my hearts

How sad. Rest in Peace Teddy and Patches. And all the other animals we have loved and lost.

I like the sentiment Maisey of them running free at the bridge, what lovely way of putting it.

So sorry to hear that, at least you gave them a chance and they were somewhere warm and loved when they went. I do hope the other little one is ok, fingers crossed.
