mr darcy

It's taken me two weeks to write this as it is still very painful but we lost darcy our 4 year old dog on 10/10/2011 .
He had not been his self for a week or more there was no alarm bells going we had taken him to the vets and a blood test was done the reading's had come back high so he was due back on the monday morning to have blood test done for cushing's disease. We took him and he died on the vets table to say we were shocked is a understatement .Darcy had the loveliest nature i had ever known in a dog we miss him so much the house is so quiet we still have one dog who is very elderly and keeps looking for him so sad .I wanted to remember him in this thread because i loved him and if i look on google maps his there looking out of the side gate of our house .
the vet
said it was liver failure something he was born with .

R.I.P.darcy miss you

Our little girl went over the Rainbow Bridge on
17th June.....she was a JRxChiuhua....we got her aged 2 from a rescue centre, and after discovered she suffered with frequent epileptic fits. But she was a tough cookie and lived til she was 16.

In memory of her we bought a beautiful orange rose called Super Trooper, because thats what she was.

She had kept pretty well until late spring of this year when she didnt want to eat, and she lost her zest for living. She lost such alot of weight, and we knew the dreaded time was near to make that awful decision, for her sake. She seemed to know, when we took her to the vets, and although I had said I wanted the vet to come to our home, Holly decided otherwise. She sat on my lap in the waiting room (never had done that or been so relaxed at the vets before ever)....she lay on the vets table, licked our faces....and we knew it was time to say goodbye. It was dreadful and it still hurts so much to remember that day. Her ashes are in our garden, next to our previous dog.....
I will never forget you, and I will always miss you my darling girl....Thank you for sharing my life....
God bless you little one.....

I can't remember how old you are because we never meant to keep you, but you ran away the day the people who were adopting you came. I'm eternally grateful you did as you were the most wonderful cat I ever had, licking people for affection, headbutting and the loudest purr I have ever heard! I never knew you to be tempermental or aggressive, just always chilled and happy.

I know you're beyond pain now, and I am glad but I'll miss you so very much. I love you xxx

Tillie was a little green and yellow budgie found by a policeman in a downtown type area and handed into a lady who treats and looks after various little creatures.

We were asked if we could have her.

She had no flight feathers on one wing and no tail. She couldn't fly and screamed when she saw hands.

We took her to the vet shortly after we adopted her. She had a lung infection and possibly a neurological problem.

Treated for a fortnight with antibiotics and vitamins she started to look better and was perky. She still screamed when she saw hands.

Gradually that passed and she became calmer.

One Sunday we found her in a dreadful state. Back to the vet. More medication and care needed. The vet thought she had had a stroke.

She got over that and appeared to be enjoying life with her 3 companions. Her fear of hands had subsided and she even came to me when I put food in the cage etc.

Then 2 weeks ago I saw she wasn't herself and it was back to the vet who said she was underweight. More antibiotics and treat snacks to encourage her to eat.

I noticed her droppings weren't normal so back to the vet a week later.

She had treatment that day for impaction and seemed ok I was told the following morning, having spent the night at the veterinary hospital.

Later that day I was told she had a mass that had caused the problem.

The vet suggested we had her home for the night to give her lots of TLC and a decision would be made the next day. She had had medication for pain so wasn't, I was told, in pain.

My OH went to collect her. I was in bits as I had developed such a bond with this plucky little bird.

5 minutes after he left I had a call from another vet to say Tillie had taken a turn for the worse and that he felt she should be helped on her way.

We had her less than a year but she made an enormous impression. Even the vet shed a few tears.

RIP little Tillie you will never be forgotten xxxx

I hoped that for at least 10 years I would only be sending condolences to you all. Sadly though, my 2 year old cat Winnie died this morning. She was run over and left on the side of the road.

mum woke me up to tell me this morning.

devastated does not cover how I'm feeling, not even slightly. She has not even been gone a day and I miss her so much. I think it will take a while to sink in.

Condolences to any of you who have been in the same position.

I posted on your other thread and like i said there, doesn;t matter how long she was with you...the thing is that she WAS with you and she enjoyed her time with you. You will feel devestated and that's ok. Shed as many tears as you have too, but soon you will smile.

RIP Puss who was found dead on the road this morning outside our yard.

She turned up about 6 years ago and had two kittens. We helped her look after them, took the kittens to the vets etc and her as well.

I brought home one kitten who is my beloved Blackster and Puss stayed at the yard. Because of my father in laws dogs she lived in the garage, which sounds awful but it wasn't because he left the heating and lights on all day and night for her! She loved it in there.

The hard part is that when I drove to work this morning and turned into the yard I saw what I thought was black rag in the middle of the road, but it turned out to be her. Bless her little heart. So upset and got to tell my kids later.

She lives on in my Blackster, her gorgeous son.

R.I.P. Puss. You were a wonderful mum and a wonderful cat.

Our family's beautiful beloved black cat died today age 17. He had a heart attack a year ago and his heart finally gave out today. I was prepared, but the thought of never seeing him and holding him again is horrible.

The thought of this is usually why I start crying about Winnie.

Billy

Our beautiful little cat has left has left us today, I can't bear the pain.

He just turned up in summer 2007, we didn't feed or encourage him in case he belonged to someone else, but he just kind of lived on a ledge in our garden for two weeks, and seemed to be getting no care from any one else. So we took him to the vet to get checked out (he was very patchy & thin) & left the door open in case he wanted to come & live with us, which he did.

A year later he had a funny spell which led us to finding his diabetes. After a year of daily insulin jabs & controlled diet, his glucose levels were normal & remained so, thank God, so he had another period of good health.

In October this year, he had a bladder infection which led the vet to run a set of tests which detected what swiftly became CRF. He's been re-hydrated by drip a couple of times in the past month & it perked him up & improved his numbers so much each time, I cherished a small hope that we could continue treatments & keep him with us a little longer (since I had been reassured that he was not in pain). Sadly tonight, he collapsed, hyperventilating; all we could do was take him to the animal hospital so his suffering was brief.

I will miss your little furry face forever, Bill Bill, mummy loves you, & is so thankful for every day we were blessed with you.

My darling wiemaraner Kaspar.
After 12 years of constant companionship and un conditional love we lost him early on christmas morning. He died peacefully in his sleep, I desperately hold onto that knowledge hoping that it will help to ease the pain of losing him. I feel broken without him.

My heart goes out to both of you, how heartbreaking and this time of year somehow makes it worse when everyone is (expected to be) jolly and happy.

We had our own little family of cats and housebunnies - it was like feeding time at the zoo with 6 little bowls and 5 little black and white heads and one big grey one, plus a bunny trying to fight its way in. Losing each one over the years (3 in one year alone) was so difficult, a river of tears each time.
