Cheap but GOOD in-car bluetooth handsfree set?

Can anyone recommend a good Bluetooth handsfree gadget that HASN'T got voice recognition, a phone book thing etc?

Just an in-car (non headset) gadget that is easy to use, good sound and mic quality and is compatible with a Nokia 6300.

I don't want to spend the earth and I am new to this.

Thanks.

I've had this for a few years....Sony Ericsson HCB-100 . It's pretty good - easy to operate and the sound is decent. I specifically chose that one because it can pair with lots of different phones and hold them in its memory. Each phone is assigned a different lcd colour, and to switch between them you just press a button - useful if you and your partner share a car. Don't think Sony make it any more, but seems to still be available on Amazon.

If you don't need anything fancy then I like the look of this current Sony Ericsson one...HCB-105 . Amazon have it for only £20 and it gets excellent reviews. Here's the Amazon link

Hi

You reckon this is worth a punt? I need it to connect to two different Nokia handsets, just need to make sure that it will?

Hi

If you're talking about ----this one---- then yep, I reckon it's worth £30. It's what I use...it sits on the neatly on the visor, tidily out the way until I need to use it. Whenever me or my wife get in the car we just turn it on and press the button until it turns to the led colour that we've got paired to our individual phones. Then...beep, beep, beep...it's linked. When a call comes though I just flip the visor down, glance up, and press the "answer" button. Job's a good 'un.

Only thing I'd say is that you can't necessarily dial hands-free, only answer anything that's comes in. You might be able to set up a voice activated call, but that would depend on your phone, not on the hands-free.

I'd also mention that the unit is three years old or so. Technology moves fast these days, and mabe someone else has recomendations that are a bit more up to date! All I can say though is that it's served me well, is pretty intuative and provides a decent call quality. Don't know what your anticipated budget was, but at £30 it feels like a decent punt.

Cheers, anything else you want to know just ask!

I'm interested in getting a basic but good in car kit. However I don't really know much about this. If a bought one of these units, I presume I would also need to buy a blue tooth headset?

What he said.

It's got a built in speaker and microphone so a headset isn't required. Looking around on Amazon I found it a bit cheaper from some sellers. There's also one called an HCB-100E. Seems to be the same unit but with a black finish instead of a silver one.

Thanks for your replies.

I was told that the SE HCB105 wouldn't pair with a Nokia 6300.

I have ordered a visor speaker/mic for £30.

I hope it works

Looks good...tbh I always think it's a good idea to buy the same manufacturer as the mobile you've got just to be on the safe side. When I bought mine my wife and I both had a SE and it paired effortlessly. We've changed now and both got an HTC...fortunately the unit pairs fine with them, otherwise I'd be in the same boat as you and looking advice on something new!

Thanks for your advice anyway Geejaay. You've been helpful. I'll let you know how I get, or don't get, on.
