I've been to both the Cardiff one and the Newcastle one (which is where I live) and to be honest I preferred the Cardiff one, mainly because as well as the exhibition I got to go to loads of places where location filming had taken place both for Dr Who & Torchwood and as an added bonus I met David Tennant in a bar. Now that wouldn't have happened in Newcastle.

but i agree with the cost being Prohibitive to get to cardiff for those on low incomes”

Are you sure about the Blackpool one, I thought it was perment?

yep they closed it last year,Steven Moffat went on the last day and even he didn't know it was or why it was closing, the exhibits were said to be moved to other exhibitions but many were auctioned off earlier this year

The BBC appear to have done a "Paramount" and auctioned off a lot of Doctor Who & Torchwood stuff. I was particulaly sad to see the Torchwood SUV auctioned off. Anyne know who bought it ?

The Cardiff one closed at the end of March 2011. i was lucky enough to be Cardiff for the Wales v England game that weekend and talked to the management about it. They were very disappointed that the BBC were closing them down that early.

I sympathise with the OP that the other exhibitions are going to (or already have) close. But I do think it presents an opportunity to go to Cardiff for a holiday to see some of the sets as well as the whole city of Cardiff, which is a lovely place.

Just going to the exhibition is good, but to touch Bad Wolf painted on the wall, see the Fathers Day church and stand where the Hub lift is in Cardiff Bay is so much better.

Go to Cardiff and see the locations. They're worth the trip.

If they're putting together duplicate 'experiences' like the one in Olympia the I say bloody well go for it as it is superb.
It shouldn't be too hard to put a permanent exhibition in several locations with the interactive element attached. London, Cardiff, Manchester/Birmingham, Glasgow/Edinburgh... everybody is happy.

I live in France, so any exhibition is too far for me.
But, I think it makes sense for it to be in Cardiff. It's the Home of Doctor Who now!

If you have a Doctor Who Museum in Cardiff and the experience in London, maybe a little something glasgow, everyone should be happy!

I remember visiting a Doctor Who exhibition stand on Brighton Pier, it was pretty amazing actually, they had a Dalek come up to you, threatening to exterminate you. Shame all of these are closing though! Are we seeing the popularity of the show dip a little bit?
