Jimi - ok but nothing special

Peter - good for a couple of weeks

Tina - really not sure

Kara - def the Beebs favourite - tess said it was going to get hot - wardrobe at it again why put her in a dress with a pointy bit if she is going to kneel down ? not a cha cha dress.

Ann - it was nice and no where near as bad as i had feared.

Gavin - the boy did good - i really thought he was going to be this year's duffer but not at all.

Michelle -BIG disappointment

Overall thought not a patch on last night

I think Michelle came across as rather big-headed this evening by saying she wouldn't be happy with scores of less than eights (reminds me of Natalie Lowe last year). For God's sake, the woman needs to GET REAL! It's the first week!

Watched it about an hour ago. Thought Kara was very good. She's my one to watch this year.

I was quite surprised at how bad Michelle was. I was very disappointed. When Brendan realised that Michelle was going to be his partner he looked like the cat that got the cream. I think he's got alot of work to do.
I couldn't see the potential with Tina. There were lots of mistakes and I didn't understand the dress they'd chosen for her. Usually dresses are chosen which accentuate the hip movement. You couldn't see her hips therefore it didn't come across very well. From tonights offering I liked Gavin Henson. I didn't expect a good performance and he was surprisingly good. Kara was very good too but I think overmarked. She fell over and although a good recovery it wasn't worth an 8 IMO.

Dear Lord, Tina was truly dreadful.

Thought Jimi was quite good - wasn't expecting that.

The problem I have when watching the women and I think most people do is when it's a fast dance you want them to move quicker because you measure them against the professionals. It's only week one and it's all to play for I really like Tina and Jared and the judges see potential I think it's just nerves and now Jared knows they want more I'm sure they will raise their game. I love Kara and artem and thought they deserved a better score then Scott and Natalie. Loved artems outfit I nearly fainted! Lol.

I think calling her fans thick was a bit below the belt but they are lacking in judgement. The other judges say things that are interesting with her - I listen thinking 'why are you still here?'. I think it's because neither the beeb or her can bear to lose the face of admitting it was a mistake personally. I couldn't believe it when she called kara's the dance of the night - Gavin was a lot better and so was Jimi. And her marking - give me a break?! As for sympathing with contestants - well that so worked with Criag Kelly and Laila Rouss last year didn't it. Apart from her lack of awareness about how far she punching above her weight and her remarks in Company mag moaning about women journos slagging her off about Arlene saying 'i think the sisterhood should stick together' (yeah babe I know you didn't know you were booting out another women when you took the job but you've got understand how the sisterhood just might be peeved by an expert being ousted in favour of a younger model whom doesn't know squat) I actually like Alesha.

This made me laugh. Surely you are just saying the same thing, but trying to be slightly more polite?

Being called thick I can just ignore, because to say something like that on here says more about the poster than anything else, but I do take offence at being told I am lacking in judgement because I have a different opinion to you. And if you like Alesha, then I hate to think what you would say about someone you don't like.

I respect your right to have an opinion. Why can't you do the same to me or anyone else who doesn't mind Alesha as a judge without being insulting?

Michelle Williams reminded me of Fiona Phillips. Never felt I would feel sorry for Brendan but I do tonight.

Kara was good but that outfit was just tacky.

Agreed. And I think if you're going to make a bold statement like that, then the dancing has to live up to it.

I know Kara wasn't responsible for her outfit but it did her no favours. It's too early in the competition for her to pull off such a fierce look because the dancing is still a bit too unpolished and tame to do it justice.

She is a very pretty girl but the Wardrobe department made her look like a hooker. It looked like they hat cut up bits of bin back and wrapped them round her neck etc. It was a shame because her dancing is quite good.

Just finished watching. I think Michelle could well go out pretty early on. Loving Kara and Artem. Looking forward to ITT starting on monday.

I don't want to go on and on about it, but last night it was really getting out of hand, and moving on from Alesha-bashing to bashing anyone who didn't bash her. She was doing what she was hired to do...show some empathy and encouragement.

Honestly, she's not my favorite person in the world at all, but the venom-spewing gets way out of control. Like I've said elsewhere, it's funny how almost everyone disliked Arlene until Alesha got the job.

Had to record the show, forgot to tell everyone I was incommunicado on Saturday evenings and visitors turned up <sigh>, entirely my own fault. The highlights for me were Gavin, what a surprise there, and Anne, who was exactly as I expected. I can't wait for her Salsa

Don't think the music choices or the costumes have been up to the usual high standards we have come to expect.
Michelle seems full of herself.Hope voters don't keep in Paul and Anne just to laugh at them, or to be perverse. They should be the first two out in my opinion.

No, you don't. The poster wasn't being disrespectful, so you should allow them to express their opinion. You really can't take it when someone disagrees with you. You call anyone who doesn't like Alesha a "basher". That is insulting and disrespectful.

It wasn't Buddy who called it Alesha bashing.

This is a forum, everyone has a different opinion, otherwise there would be no point to it all. However saying that someone is wrong when they don't agree with an opinion is, well just wrong! You can only be wrong about hard facts, not about peoples opinions.

I thought that apart from Gavin, the couples last night weren't up to the standard of Friday, I'm really looking forward to next week when they all dance in the same show

I didn't think Michelle was awful, but the choreography was too gimicky and didn't show her off to her full potential, same with Jimi.

I have never called anyone a basher on DS and I hope I have never been disrespectful or insulting when voicing my opinion if I disagree with someone.

You clearly have a problem with me, so I won't be trying to defend myself any further.
