I watched The End Of Time again just recently and there's a small bit of it that I wonder about every time I see this episode and I always mean to ask for other people's opinion. It's hardly the most major of issues, as I said in the thread title it's just a bit of a curiosity.
Spoilers ahead if you haven't seen The End Of Time! (I know its not exactly a new episode, but some people might not have)
At the end, when The Doctor is revisiting his friends before he goes off to regenerate, he saves Luke (I think that's his name) from being hit by a car. Luke obviously recognises The Doctor, and then says "You're..." and doesn't finish his sentence.
I don't watch the Sarah Jane Adventures, I've seen one or two episodes with my young nephew who likes it so I don't know much about Luke but I gather he has some sort of special ability to perceive extraordinary things from his appearance in The Stolen Earth as he remarks that what turns out to be the Daleks moving the planet "felt like some sort of trans-dimensional spatial transference" or something like that. So what I'm curious about is simply this: Was Luke simply very stunned at seeing The Doctor (as it was the first time they'd actually met in person), or did he see him and recognise that he was dying and about to regenerate?
As I say, it's not a major point and I doubt there's any way to be totally sure, but I'm interested in opinions. I think he sees that the Doctor is regenerating personally.
