I agree, Bruce is going too far in his mocking of Criag paticularly when he kept on repeating disaster. I don't find it funny but nasty. Bruce himself can't take a joke. Look how shirty he got when Tess commented about his blood pressure in a joking way.

I said the same thing on another thread and I'm glad to see we are still in tune!
I try to give people the benefit of the doubt, but my gut feeling and/or instinct tell me not to trust Paul at all - I don't think he's a very nice man.
Paul Daniels is a chippy little thing - he's always furious & thinks everyone is being nasty to him so he's not the best person to be cracking jokes - but it was a double entendre sex joke & it wasn't any different to any sex joke involving pussies or other euphemisms.

The more think about it, the more I am convinced that PD did this deliberately in order to generate publicity for himself. He's worked out that the chances of him dancing his way to success are slim so he's doing this instead.
You can already see the Daily Heil jumping on this and turning into 'poor PD told off for being un-PC' (:yawn
and using it to attack the BBC via Strictly yet again (:yawn::yawn::yawn.It's a shabby gesture and my instincts are precisely the same as yours. I don't think he will have made himself many friends last night and the person I feel sorriest for is Ola, being stuck with someone who comes across as a snidy sourpuss.

No i agree.... he did a celebrity wife swap a few years back and although i didn't watch it myself i seem to remember that whoever had to 'live' with him wasn't very impressed!.....

I reckon that Craig Revel Horwood knew full well what sort of comic potential there was in him accepting the role of being the face of sausage week.
Especially when the previous incumbent was slated to appear in Strictly.
If both of them see the jokiness in it, why are other folk getting shirty about it?

And people are perfectly at liberty to comment on PD's motives for making a remark that could so obviously be interpreted in a number of ways. Aren't they?
Since there is a rational explanation for the comment, I can't see any alternative than to just take the comment at face value and let it go. If Paul stays on strictly for a while then I'm sure we'll get a better opportunity to see aspects of his personality, but in the meantime I really think it is unfair to jump to conclusions.
To be fair, it was Vanessa Feltz who I would imagine would be just the teensty, weensty bit demanding......

Just seems to me that we live in a world where an awful lot of people try really hard to be offended on other peoples' behalf. Empathy and compassion are fine and noble things, of course. But they can be misplaced. That's a judgement call, though. And your judgement is obviously different to mine.
But Craig Revel Horwood and Paul Daniels are die-hard showbiz types and they'll just both be delighted to have caused a "OHNOES HOMOPHOBIA" reaction in the media, because I'd bet my house it'll be in the papers tomorrow. I'm not offended by PD's comment - although I think it makes him look stupid and bitter - but it's his motives behind making that comment in the first place which I find highly dubious, for the reasons previously mentioned.
As for either Craig or PD settling down to eat sausages ...
