The point of the Daily Heil reporting that remark and subsequent 'outrage' is purely to rubbish the BBC's flagship entertainment show. That is their only aim - and that is why remarks like PD's are turned into 'stories'.

I think you are reading far too much into it. Craig has said himself on twitter that PD was referring to his role in British Sausage Week. What the Daily Mail failed to mention is that Paul and his wife Debbie have also been involved in a previous campaign. So it has probably been a bit of a back stage joke.

Me thinks arrogant little numpty Daniels was a tad annoyed at his comments.
The sausage comment was somewhat naughty. Looks like he got away with it too.

The joke was about CRH's involvement in sausage week. Nothing more. Treat it in it's proper context and it has nothing to do with his sexuality. The only people making it to do with that are those searching for the innuendo and crying homophobia!
