Songs that sound similar
Boney M - Still I'm Sad
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TJ9KMOFEgvI The Tokens - The Lion Sleeps Tonight http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_LBmUwi6mEo Similar sounding verses. --------------------------------------------- Boney M - Sunny http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oQMqnRYt-nw Mark Ronson - Ooh Wee http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lpayJn3Ch5M (okay, he sampled the beginning of the song!) I thought it was a new song until I heard the original Boney M song! |

Puddle Of Mudds' 'She Hates Me' and Suicidal Tendancies 'I Saw Your Mummy' sound very similar.

George Harrison - My Sweet Lord
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wynYMJwEPH8 The Chiffons - He's So Fine http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_MNXM67yFMI I have a vague recollection that there was an attempt to sue George Harrison by the writers of "He's So Fine" as the similarity between the two songs were deemed too similar to be just a coincidence. |

He was sued and lost.Ironically George admitted he did base My Sweet Lord on another song and not He's So Fine It was based on the Edin Hawkins Singers song "Oh Happy Day" http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CNQXQKflJNA |

Ace of Base - 'Don't Turn Around' & Lady Gaga - 'Alejandro'. Oasis' "Whatever" sounds like "How Sweet To Be an Idiot" by Neil Innes, quite amusing that Innes parodied The Beatles with The Rutles, and now this ![]() It's that one line - "How sweet to be an idiot" which is melodically identical to "I'm free to be whatever I", the chord progression is the same too. Whatever: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GkB3LEesmzk&feature=fvst How Sweet To Be An Idiot: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nZ9EWcaS7II |

Wasn't "Don't Turn Around" originally by Aswad?

Also Lady Gaga Alejandro and Madonna La Isla Bonita
Ever seen this before - a lady gaga/ace of base parody.... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5Xwawlh_GCE She probably set out to make her 'version' of it like she does quite a lot (Boys Boys Boys > Girls Girls Girls, The Fame > Fame, Just Dance > Let's Dance etc.) but beyond the fact they're both Latin-flavoured, there's not a whole lot to compare there. |

I was quite taken aback at how blatantly similar Texas's 'Once In A Lifetime' is to TLC's 'Creep', not only in the chorus but also bridges etc as well.
Also, all but vocally the Bloodhound Gang's 'Bad Touch' is basically the Pet Shop Boys' 'In The Night' (aka 'The Clothes Show theme tune'). I suppose this is intentional and with blessing though, given that the single version of 'Bad Touch' contains remixes by Messrs Tennant & Lowe. |

On the topic of Lady Gaga and Boney M, I once heard a Boney M song that sounded a lot like Poker Face. I searched it on youtube, and there were hundreds of people in the comments talking about Poker Face too, so I realized it wasn't just me going crazy.
I can't remember what it's called though; I'll try to find it.EDIT: Here it is: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fv53g...layer_embedded |

Also, all the singles from The E.N.D by the Black Eyed Peas sound very similar to previous songs.
However, those singles were absolutely phenomenal, to be fair. |

The guitar riff on 'Warning' by Green Day sounds similar to 'Picture Book' by The Kinks.
Remember when I first heard 'Warning' on the radio and I thought "Bloody hell, that sounds very much like 'Picture Book' at the start".
