The Doors - Five to One

Girls Aloud - Sound of the Underground
Puretone - Addicted to Bass

Girls Aloud - No Good Advice
The Knack - My Sharona

Girls Aloud - Life Got Cold

The Strokes - You Only Live Once
Queen - I Want To Break Free

Hear'say - Pure & Simple

Stone Roses - Waterfall / Don't Stop

Super Furry Animals - Golden Retriever
Chicory Tip - Son of my Father

I have to say as a fan of rock and rap music girls aloud arn't really on my radar but i remember this song when it was released and always had a soft spot for it! While they may have a similar chord progression i wouldn't say they are that similar. Green Days boulavard of dreams sounds much more like wonderwall!

Is that a dig at how Nicole does all the singing whilst the other Pussycat Dolls just prance around?

Yeah, quite similar.

But have you heard Not to Love You by Ryan Tedder? Now, that's actually EXACTLY the same song!

Millenium by Robbie Williams was a direct nick from You Only Live twice (Bond theme) by Nancy Sinatra.

A-hem!!! John Barry, please!

I seem to remember that Robbie Williams may have asked John Barry's estate for permission there...

Nirvana - Smells like teen spirit/Boston - More than a feeling/Beatles - here comes the sun/Kingsmen - louie louie

Nirvana - Come as you are/The Killing Joke - eighties

there are hundreds of songs that use sampling or have very similar melodies or riffs, usually they're up on whosampled.com
I love 'Eighties' by killing Joke. Yeh I can see that Dave Grohl is a known big fan of Killing Joke.

Cheryl Cole- Fight For This Love
Doesn't Cheryl also borrow from Toploader's Dancing in the Moonlight?

Parts of the piano song that were used on the Honda ad a while back sound very similar to Time of Your Life by Green Day

I think the piano music is called "Summer" - now I cant find the ad

Moby Grape - Never
Led Zeppelin - Since I've Been Loving You

Jake Holmes - Dazed and Confused
Led Zeppelin- Dazed And Confused

Muddy Waters - You need love
Small Faces - You Need Loving
Led Zeppelin - Whole Lotta Love

Spirit - Taurus
Led Zeppelin - Stairway to heaven

In all cases Led Zeppelin "borrowed" from other artists
----------------------------------------

Astrud Gilberto - Maria Quiet
Deep Purple - Smoke On The Water

It's A Beautiful Day - Bombay Calling
Deep Purple-Child in Time

Of course it was Deep Purple who "borrowed" few ideas
-----------------------------------------

Bleak House-Rainbow Warrior
Metallica- Welcome home (Sanitarium)

Excel-Tapping Into The Emotional Void
Metallica - Enter Sandman

Metallica is also good in plagiarising other artists...

Another example, though this one wasn't plagiarised. Marriott asked Hendrix if he could use this great riff. They were at Olympic studios at the same time recording their albums.

Jimi Hendrix - Foxy Lady
Small Faces - Rollin' Over

James Blunt's new single Dangerous sounds like someone has mixed together the verse of Chesney Hawkes' 'I am the one and only' and the chorus of Maniac by Michael Sembello to create a new (and annoying) song.

Does anyone know what that piano song on the recent Honda ad was with the poem (roadsides are boring/Winters are cold) etc?
