I thought they did OK - the chorus sounded a bit weak - I think the whole thing would've improved had Harry and Liam done the main vocals.

I think they were really good last night. They're my 4th favourite currently (1st Treyc, 2nd Cher, 3rd Belle Amie) but I won't vote for them this week because it's inevitable that they are going through.

I find it weird because 1D are the first ever boyband I've actually supported on XF. I liked JLS but they sold out their sound for commercial success before I became an actual fan.

I think 1D will be the biggest boyband in XF history - even bigger than JLS. I still think they are going to win.

On the song choice, 'Viva la Vida' was a brilliant choice. They shouldn't have a lead singer. I think that's what ruined JLS' chances. Aston was given lead when he wasn't the strongest vocalist. I think Harry and Liam should be joint lead. Zain looked too nervous - he needs to overcome his fears.

Hopefully next week won't be all Liam orientated.

Personally I prefer watching them on mute. Additionally, they need to wear less .

Tbh, Harry and Zain are the only attractive ones.

Louis is *pukes*, Niall isn't that good-looking and Liam isn't as good as people make out.

I don't think Aston taking the lead actually ruined JLS' chances. They did pretty well getting as far as they did. Even as a JLS fan I'd say that Alex was much better on the final and you can't really compare Westlife to Beyonce. They are in completely different leagues. Aston was easily and still is the most popular member of the group, but there doesn't seem to be a clear favourite in One Direction. Seems to be split between Harry, Zayn and Liam. Although, I would like them all to split the vocals with Harry and Liam mainly taking the lead

As much as I'd like them or Cher to win.. I'd rather they didn't as I'm not too keen on Syco as a record label. They would simply be given covers and then fade away after a year or so. At least with a label like Epic they can attempt to go on and have JLS type success

Of course Harry and Zayn are the only good looking ones, haha, Liam's nose is kinda weird :S

Haha, everyone was saying they look like a younger version of The Wanted...even though most of them are older than Nathan (the youngest) haha :L But I agree, Harry reminds me of Jay, Zayn reminds me of Siva, Liam reminds me of Nathan, then the other two don't really fit? :L

I don't blame them for doing shoots like this though as they obviously know being a young good looking boyband is one of their strengths and will bring in the votes from teenage girls. Liam didn't really need his top off in the shoot though

I was watching them on Twitcam a few weeks ago before Judges Houses was aired and viewers were requesting songs for them to sing. A few people asked them to sing The Wanted and they replied with "No boyband songs". The way they said it made me think they don't really want to sing the typical boyband songs and that they would try their best to have as much say as possible in what they sing.

Torn and Viva La Vida were really good song choices imo, so I hope they continue to sing songs like that. JLS unfortunately by the end of the competition turned into Westlife (with the exception of Umbrella). I guess that was inevitable though with Louis as a mentor.

Firstly, Harry needs to sing more, Niall and Zayn definately need to sing less and I'm confused as to who Louis even is. As for Liam, IMO he needs to remember the others aren't just there to be his backing vocals. However, when that all balances out I think they could actually be a good group (and I think we can presume the teen vote'll get them to at least 4th place regardless of talent).

Just wondering, have we actually been shown Zayn of Louis' auditions yet? As far as I can remember, before they were put together at the end of Bootcamp we'd seen Liam and Harry's Auditions in full, and parts of Niall (that may have been on Xtra Factor), but we only saw Zayn when he wouldn't dance (). Louis just seems to be there.

LMAO!! Sooo true! I'd seen bits with all the others and then I saw Louis and was like "where the hell did that one appear from?". We rarely hear him talk, we haven't heard him sing and he tends to dress out of sink with the rest of the band so at the moment he looks like some random smiley guy who wandered onto the set and thought he'd just stay around and sway a bit.

Zain and Naill seem a little bit hit and miss but they worked well as backing vocalists in Torn. Niall needs to concentrate more on the song though because he was out of time a lot on Viva La Vida and Zain needs to learn to look more relaxed on stage because at the moment he still looks like a deer in the headlights.

Liam and Harry both have lovely voices. Liam has a wonderful tone to his voice its very smooth and relaxing and Harry has a nice contrasting gravel to his voice and a great range. Liam seems to come across as quite mature. Harry seems to have the biggest personality and a very cheeky grin as well.

I think overall they have a lot of potential. Once they have fully gelled as a group and had pleanty of vocal training they have the potential to be very sucsessful. They are definately the most marketable act this year and should have a built in fanbase.

People keep mentioning "The Wanted" whom I hadn't heard of until yesterday but you could say there is someone already in the charts comparable to almost any act on the x factor but if you look at the charts just because one act does one style of music doesnt mean other acts cant do the same and for them both to have careers. Take for example Alexandra Burke just because there are other artists like Rianna and Beyonce out there similar to her it hasnt effected her chart sucsess. Westlife and Blue were chart topping at the same time as were McFly and Busted and Take That and Boyzone. One does not cancel out the other.

Just from that video it seems that Liam isnt as gelled with the group as much as the other four maybe because he seems to have a more serious personality and the others seem a lot more jokey and playful. That isnt necessarily a bad thing as you need someone who's little more sensable in a group to keep them on the straight and narrow.

Has anyone noticed these boys seem to have picked up the trend from the BB Boys this year with the whole contantly stroking/hugging/touching each other. Plus they all seem to have developed an additiction to running their hands through Harrys hair as well. Its quite cute.

Yeah Liam does come across very serious.

I really like these guys I watched one of their twitcams last week or the week before and they have great humour and I've loved both their performances so far. (Torn and Viva La Vida)

I think I like Harry the best, though Louis seems lovely as well.
