I love Louis he is really funny although Harry is still my favourite (I love the cheeky grin and the naughty sparkle in his eyes). I love Louis and Harry's little platonic bromance, its so cute! Louis seems to treat Harry like an adoreable little puppy to play with and is constantly hugging, patting, nibbling and coeing over him. Bless.

I enjoyed their performance last night but I'm not convinced Naill and Louis were singing live and I would guess that only Harry was singing live during the chorus. Its a shame, Simon should trust them more.

I couldn't agree more, during the chorus they kept the camera on Harry and although he didn't get his own solos, his voice was the loudest in the chorus.

I'm normally against young males on the show because they're usually dire (Eoghan, Ray, Lloyd) but I must admit, as much as i'm trying to hate them, One Direction are actually pretty good.

I downloaded the itunes track and there is definately only Harry singing the chorus with Liam (I think) doing a few harmonies. To be fair Zain may have been singing but we would have never heard his quiet voice over the soundtrack. I reckon only Liam, Harry and Zain had their mics on and only Harry was instructed to sing on the chorus. Its a shame because they proved at judges houses how nicely they could sing and harmonise without the overpowering music.

I'd love to hear them do an another accustic track.


I think most of this forum had already decided they were going to be pants before they had even performed purely based on the fact that they were young attractive males with an inbuilt fanbase. Its understandable given some of the dross we have had in the past. Like you I didnt think I would like them but I loved Harry in his first audition so thought I'd give them a shot. They may not be the best singers in the competition (Harry and Liam have lovely voices!) but they have great chemistry and are so likeable and as they have said on xtra factor just seem to gel and it works.

I like them, but I'm getting a bit bored of their performances now. I want something different from them and I sure hope Liam doesn't take lead on every song

I'd like an uptempo from them with a bigger production. JLS singing Umbrella and The Way You Make Me Feel and probably two of my favourite X Factor performances, so I'd like something like that

As for the members.. Harry is probably my favourite of the group, but I do find Louis funny in the video blogs

It might also help them to feel more like a group on stage because whilst I love Liam's voice you sort of get the impression he is still not too happy about being in the group and seems to treat the others minus Harry as more like backing singers when they are on stage. Also from a psychological (oooh get me!) point of view the others may up their game if Harry was on lead vocals mainly because they all seem quite protective of him and knowing how nervous he gets would up their game as a way of support.

I get that impression too. I always get the feeling that he thinks its his group and he is the leader when they are all equally part of it.

He does, and I get the impression that the others don't get on as well with him as they like us to believe. Liam definitely has a good voice but so do all the others, particularly Harry who seems to be the most popular in the group.

yeah i think cos harry is the youngest they all treat him as a little brother i noticed that louis seems to treat him like a little brother but that might be cos they have similar personalitys and both like been trouble makers and louis the oldest one but he only seems protective of harry

yeah i thought this during the video diarys they dont seem to interact with him as much but harry seems to be the popular one in the group (esspecailly with the girls) but if harry sings lead they will all probably step up more cos they know how nervous he gets

I'm a little confused by their points in education/ages from this. Harry must have just finished year 11 at school and Liam sounds as if he was doing some kind of appreticeship? - So could technically be year 12 or 13? Louis presumably has already completed any 6th form education and would be starting/at uni (?). What confused me was Zain and Naill because it sounded as if they were just about to start uni but I assumed at 17 they must be in year 13?!?!

Harry 16 - just starting college
Liam 17 - might be doing an enginering appreticeship
zayn 17 - might have finished college after a year and going to university
Niall 17 - same as zayn might have only done a year at college and wanted to go to university
Louis 18 - finished any form of education he wanted to do by the sounds of it lol

When i first heard that Simon formed a boyband including Liam Payne i knew straight away they would make it to the finals and possibly win so i've been following them (Belle Amie aswell) and now.....i think i've turned into a fan i was only keeping track of them since day 1 because i know they would be so popular and talked about so i thought i would keep with the trend BUT im actually starting to like them like them enough to consider myself a fan.
