Probably a really stupid question...
I'm new to the whole smartphone thing, and today have just got an HTC Wildfire. I get 1GB of internet per month as part of my contract.
However, reading the manual it says something about using WiFi. If I understand it correctly, I can use my home wireless network via the phone, as if it is a laptop. What I was wondering is: does any internet use via WiFi count towards my 1GB allowance, or is this only used up by the 3g connection? |

No, using wifi will not come out of your data allowance - the allowance will only be used up when connecting via 3G.

That's good news. I want to download some free apps tonight. My old monthly plan (with no free data allowance) is still in place until the 19th (then I start getting 1gb free). So from the sounds of it, so long as I make sure I'm connecting through WiFi only, I can just use this until the 19th
