I think it will come - it's every early days yet. They are both great dancers as the judges pointed out http://wp.me/p124B5-P9

I really like her gorgeous women, like her personality too. Matt is also good.

Omg please not another year of "just can't warm to (enter female celebrity here)".

Lots of potential with her, hopefully she will be elegant in her ballroom and therefore be a good all-rounder.

I'm impressed people have "warmed" to any of the contestants yet, if they didn't know them already. I'm currently at the stage of "well, s\he seems nice enough" with pretty much all of them.

Me, too. On both points.

I know, it is so bloody annoying that Kara has already started getting negative threads about her.

To me, Kara comes across as quite down-to-earth and self-deprecating. I certainly don't see any of the comparisons that some posters have made between her and Ali Bastian (who was much softer) and Lisa Snowdon (more simpering by far). I think she comes across as quite funny and natural.

She clearly has flair - however, I do think she was done no favours by the producers whatsoever by her VT clip in which mention was made of her having previously 'ended up' with her male co-stars, or - much worse - that appalling outfit. Skanky ho chic, or what? Quite aside from how atrocious they made her look, it was so obviously out of sync with who Kara is and also a pre-watershed entertainment show with a notoriously conservative audience.

I'm hoping her foxtrot isn't turned into some kind of sleaze-fest - otherwise I can see her exiting early ... through no fault of her own.

There's no rule that says all threads on here have to be positive - that's why we have the Appreciation threads for those who don't like to see negativity or debate!

For my part, I like Kara (ok, she's slightly annoying with all the giggling, but Alesha did that too and I can put up with that!), and I can see she has great potential, but I didn't think she was impressive last night. I didn't like the choreography and I expected it to be better. All credit to her for recovering from the slip so quickly, and at least she has a lot of rhythm and danced on time, but I think she was over-marked.

I liked her - I thought she came over really well.

The only thing was that I thought her hair / make-up & dress were awful and I spent more time during her dance moaning about that than actually watching her dancing.

I know I'm female, so probably don't understand - but was the dress supposed to be sexy ? There were lots of skimpy & sexy costumes on show over the last 2 nights, but not hers - it just made her look cheap. Which is a shame as she is a lovely girl

I will never warm to Matt Baker. However long he stays. I will be miffed if he wins.

The problem I had with her was all that 'ooo...I'm know for sleeping with my male co-stars' nonsense that seemed to make up her entire VT.

I really don't care and don't want to know so wished they would both just STFU about it to be honest.

Obviously the producers choose what to show so it isn't entirely her fault but she should just not even comment on the matter from now on if she doesn't want them to use that angle with her.

I think it is unfair that she was asked to do this series when she has had previous experience of doing strictly albeit as a one off show.

I can't warm to her either - I like Pamela more - humble and funny

Your post rather confirms my view on that VT clip - that it was edited together in such a way as to make her appear a maneater.

But, to be fair to Kara, she will have been given a script to work to. The producers clearly want to portray her in this way and she is expected to play ball. (Just like the 'feud' they tried to manufacture between Austin and Tom in Series 6). If she refuses point blank, she runs the risk of p*ssing off her new bosses - and who would want to do that?

It's cynical and cheap and the only person it will damage is Kara - so if the producers want the public to warm to her as a contender, they need to have a re-think ... and quickly. And, like you, I hope Kara puts her foot down. Nobody likes to be portrayed as a slut and that appalling outfit they put her in has done way more damage than good.

I think it's probably because he has no personality at all, but still loves himself to bits

To be fair, Kara was only allowed to train for two weeks as opposed to three because of this.

I really hope she and Artem don't become an item. But she seemed to be hinting at it in her VT. I find reality show romances so off putting.

Why are there threads referring to Kara by her surname only? Have I missed something?

Are there also threads debating the merits of Kensit and Kendal?

Seems a little bit rude to me

Mistry ftw!

Wasn't she with Joe Swash for years though? I think that's why the whole 'I'm a maneater' thing doesn't bother me, because I know already that she isn't, iykwim.

I like Kara so far - actually, I like most of the celebrities. The only one who is mildly annoying is Michelle, and that's only because she seems a lot more genuine when she drops the cocky attitude.

Me too - then he's still available for me. Seriously wouldn't blame her if she did though and what an improvement on Joe Swash.
