Do you have a pasta machine? Mine has started making this horrible screeching noise when I turn the handle. I don't have the instruction booklet anymore, so I am wondering how I can oil it or something to get rid of the sound. Obviously I can't use WD40!...lol

Do you think putting olive oil over the blades would work? It sounds like it makes perfect sense, however, I'm worried about it leaving a build-up of stickiness and ruining the machine.

Any help? Thanks.

Throw it away and buy dry pasta or fresh pasta from shops.

I totally agree!
They did a blind taste test once on a Dutch consumer programme. In the test were dry pasta, fresh pasta from the shop and home made pasta. All prepared and cooked by an Italian chef. Number one was a 29 euro cent for a bag of 500 grs dry pasta. No one, not even the chef, was able to pick out the home made pasta. Ever since my pasta machine is resting on the top shelf, gathering dust.

Wow! That is quite the procedure, however I do like a challenge and I’m pretty good at DIY so I may have to give it a go. If not, they are only about £20 so I could get another. Cheers.

Ouch! That hurt! Especially coming from the person that gave me the pasta recipe from their Italian cooking course not so long ago and I have sworn by since. Not only that, but probably IMO the chef I most respected on DS.
