All together!

Saw on Twitter that Camilla's husband posted he was watching with 'three ex champions', Darren, Lilia and of course, Camilla!

Wonder what they made of it!

Lilia is writing a column about Strictly in Reveal, so I guess we'll get a polite version of what she made of it!

They didn't like Jared by the looks of it.

At least they were watching the dancing and missing all the unnecessary chat (and the spite that is already creeping onto this forum).

But if they dissed Jared - I agree: he didn't help his hapless partner - if she had gone wrong once, then he should have been able to get her back into the routine. Compare with Anton giving instructions to Ann the whole way through their waltz.

Poor Jared. I actually blame the producers more -he is young and inexperienced and should ideally have served time in the dance troupe first before being given a celeb.

Time will tell.

It's not he's too young, he doesn't look up to it.

Tina could've reached the final with Darren, if Jared doesn't improve she'll be out shortly.

Shame the beeb didn't have a camera there as they looked like they were having a whale of a time

I must say I was a bit surprised to see Lilia apparently attempting to steal Kevin's dog though

I think thats a bit strong this early in the competition, there is absolutely no way you can know that.

I don't think it was strong at all. He was absolutely awful to the point that some of the celebrities danced better than he did. Darren and Lilia in particular must be feeling quite smug that he is showing how good they are by comparison.

Sorry but I totally disagree with you!

Which celebrities danced better than him?

Matt, Pamela, Kara...

Sorry, but he really wasn't very good. Certainly not the standard we're used to with the pro dancers.

Having said that, though, I'm willing to give him a few weeks to settle in. Perhaps he just needs to get used to Strictly.

No, not in my dreams. You are welcome to disagree all you like, I'm sure he will welcome the fan base but I stand by what I say. Jared was rubbish. Matt danced better than him, arguably even Kara despite the fall. Sadly his standard is woefully short of the other pro's and those he replaced.

Sorry but I disagree with you too!

His choice of choreography was not brilliant and more like the pros on DWTS. But there is no way you can compare his dancing ability to that of these complete beginners.

I wouldn't, but although I'm not a dancer, I could see that in comparison to any of the professional dancers he was really bad.

He may or may not improve, but his first outing was bad, and the gimmicks were awful. Concentrate on the dancing, I say!

lach doch mal, I totally agree that the gimmicks were awful. I also think he should have choreographed more of the routine 'in hold' and left out all the solo stuff.

I was disagreeing with the comments that stated he was not as good a dancer as some of the celebs, not the professionals.

Oh I did get that, so I was kind of agreeing with you (he is better than the contestants and the poor soul probably feels awful today). It could have been first night nerves, and he might improve. He definitely is still better than the celebrities, no doubt about that!

To be fair on the pros from DWTS I enjoy DWTS and they are not as bad as people on this forum make them out to be - they are talented dancers but they just have a different style.

Here is the dance that was on the first week of DWTS to the same piece of music as Jared and is a lot better.

Maybe he will improve but i can't see it

I was comparing the choreography (lots of solo stuff & not enough 'in hold') and NOT the dancing!

I love DWTS!

The choreography was appalling, but that wasn't what I disliked most. Watch his arm positions in the bit they ironically used as the recap of the dance, they were absolutely woeful, it looked ridiculous and Tina made a better line (although hers wasn't great either). Matt made much better lines than either Jared or Tina.

Oops I thought you were comparing the dancing, the whole not in hold thing in ballroom is the only thing that annoys me about DWTS but love DWTS too

I have to say I agree. Obviously it would be ridiculous to say a beginner was better than the pro overall but Jared was so shockingly poor, to the extent he looked lost at times, that I really thought Matt looked more confident and poised. Jared and Tina looked like a pair of amateur learners together.
I would add that if I were Lilia or Darren I wouldn't be feeling smug, I would be feeling insulted that I had been passed over for a dancer of this quality and obvious inexperience.
