I don't enjoy watching anyone who danced in Friday's show.

Or any of the male celebs except Peter.

I don't mind Tina, but I loathe Jared, so they're out too.

I think that leaves Peter, Ann, the one off Eastenders, um, ... yes, Kara, and Michelle.

I have no interest at all in the others, and I may just watch recordings so that I can FF past them.

I feel sorry for you too because with the exception of Kara I think the others will all be gone before too long.

I agree. It's a shame to write them off so soon. I thought there was some potential shown by quite a few. I always feel things tend to pick up more once we've seen all of them perform both a Latin and a Ballroom.

Do you know Jared ? I assume you must as you loathe him and you couldn't say that unless you knew him well .

I can say it, and I did.

I do mean an implicit "as he appears on tv in SCD", however.

Maybe I'd like him in real life. Who knows?

What a shame you aren't gleaning much enjoyment from Strictly this year OP.

I think it's better than ever and I'm enjoying almost all the couples - albeit to different degrees.

Actually I agree with you, this year there have been some major improvements, I quite like the contestants and I'm enjoying it.

**although I do miss some of the previous pros and I don't think that all of the new pros are up to scratch

I don't see it that way. If there's less Strictly I want to watch, I have more time for other things.

I'm tired of watching people and dances I don't enjoy watching and don't care about, as has happened every other year. I didn't like anything on Friday's show, so I'm done with them. I don't want to watch yet another rugby player's surprisingly good dancing or journey.

But their potential is just to be much like dancers we've seen in other years and who didn't much interest me then.

Jared will definitely have to buck his ideas up. But am willing to give him another chance.

Matt will be hard to replace though.

Can you read my mind.

I'm willing to give him another chance as well. I always enjoyed Matt, Ian and Lilia, so I'm bound to miss them. However, kudos to the BBC for listening to a lot of the suggestions and for making Strictly quite sparkly again.

Why have you carried on watching it ?
Don't put yourself through agonies , switch off .

We have a TV and watch it very little , there is not much I regard as worth watching and no way will watch what I can't stand ,

So you loathe ((tr) to feel strong hatred or disgust for) Jared:

a) As a name
b) As a person
c) As a dancer
d) As a teacher
e) As a choreographer
f) For his clothes
g) For the way he talks
OR
h) For his style
??

Jings, I have seen him dance but twice.
I haven't felt that strong an emotion even towards my spouse - and I had cause!

With you on that, Sid

Plus, they all need to settle into the show yet - give them a chance to reach elimination stages at least first

Oh my, OP.

Three of your four picks are the ones I am least interested in, but I suppose it would be boring if we all had the same favourites.

I do hope you manage to get at least a little enjoyment out of SCD this year. I am loving it so far

But much of what happens in other years is me tearing my hear in frustration because someone I can't stand (such as Natalie Cassidy) is there week after week, or because someone I don't enjoy watching becomes (from my POV) irritatingly over-praised and over-rated.

So I'm planning on cutting back and focusing on the ones I think I'll enjoy.

I found Peter very likeable for some reason, when I hadn't expected to. Ann was great fun, and she's more than a match for the judges' comments. I want to see what Michelle can do. And, though I wasn't impressed by Kara's dance at first, I watched it again after hearing the judges, and I think they were right about how good it was. I think she might do interesting things, and I want to see what her pro partner does as well.

Did you notice the part about Fast-Forwarding over the ones I didn't want to watch?

I can't get much further towards not watching them than that.

Yes - including all those filthy thoughts

I'd be heartbroken if Vincent left so I can totally understand others feeling upset about the absence of their favourite pros.

But I do think there's lots to be happy about this series too

**puts on perception filter**

Now I'm safe

I'm loving this year so far!! The changes are brilliant, there is some real dancing talent there and I just enjoy it as my pre-xmas treat... It's all a bit of a sparkle.

If you don't want to watch people who have the potential to be just like what we've seen previously, then why are you watching at all? That's a genuine question, as the dances haven't changed, so the technique to be taught is the same, which means people will be the same kind of dancers as in the past. There are different dance shows for different genres if you want to see different dancing.

And just as a side note, the rugby player danced on Saturday. I assume he wasn't one of your 4 picks, so I can only conclude from that that you like 2 or 3 people who haven't got a hope of giving you the different show you crave because they're just not good in the genre they danced on Saturday. If you gave those who showed potential in the genre they danced this week a chance to impress in the other genre, then you might find some people who will be around for a long way into the show and may have a chance to surprise you. It's a shame to write anyone off completely at this stage unless technically they were so bad they cannot improve quick enough, which only applies to a couple of this year's contestants, from both nights.

My dear old mum - I phoned her in time for Friday's show and she said she wasn't going to watch this year because she only knew 'the wee woman' and she wasn't keen on watching her dance.

Needless to say I phoned about 9.30 and heard it on tv in the background!
She can't resist lol

It's going to be a heck of a lot of fast-forwarding! Is it really worth watching at all?
