A lot of stuff has been rectified, the show has fewer dead moments, all faster-moving and I just enjoyed it all. The jury was absolutely fine, the band was fine and there's a good variety in the dancers, and even Bruce was fine (and it takes a lot for me to admit that). The Robbie Williams/Gary Barlow thingsong was awful, but it provided an excellent moment of escape to go out and make another cuppa.
Running up that flight of stairs to Tess after a fast routine may require a chairlift later on in the series for the less-gymnastic contestants, hmm, or maybe they will lower the platform by a step or two in the later stages of the competition.
Ann and Anton will sail on as long as her heart and general health can stand the strenuous exercise of dancing (really hope she doesn't do a Jimmy Tarbuck). If she is not voted out, she has every right to stay in the competition.
For me, Strictly has now dropped its pretentious side and gone back to being about dancing. The only people I feel like dissing are the lazy tabloid journos as usual, but they are mercifully outside the show.
