Waiting for BT Vision Box to Arrive
I have ordered BT Vision and the equipment is due to arrive tomorrow, 6 October. I am not very technical and am worried about the self set up, although I have read that this is actually pretty straightforward.
Is BT Vision really simple to set up? I plan to put the box in my daughter's bedroom initially, at least, which is not adjacent to the home hub and cannot get my head around how the signal is transferred to the vision box. Is it wireless or via the plugs that are supplied? Sorry if this has been posted before. |

there will be powerline adaptors with the box which you'll use to get the connection from the vision box to the homehub. There are instructions on how to set the plugs up. Once you've done that its just a case of plugging everything into the box and switching on.

As paul says. you plug one poweline in near the homehub connect the hub to the powerline. then site the seccond powerline near the vision box and plug the vision box into the powerline there. then plug the ariel into the vision box, and then either use the HDMI port or SCART to connect vision to tv. with the TV on, switch on vision. it'll startup for a bit on first run, then eventually offer to scan channels. once thats done you are ready to go! optionally you can connect the digital out port to any cinema kit you may own. |

Well, the deed has now been done - all installed with the minimum of fuss, other than interrupting my other half's online gaming when re-booting the hub.
Thanks all for your help. |

Hi - a further query re Powerline Adapters. Currently my PC is upstairs and is connected to the Home Hub downstairs via Powerline Adapters. Am shortly intending subscribing to BT Vision - how would I set this up? Do I just plug in one of BT's adapters to the home hub, and the other to the Vision box? Or is it not that simple?
Thanks for any advice. |

masona2, I am delighted with the service. We have the Bronze package and there are more than enough decent programmes to keep everyone happy. Glad I took the plunge after much deliberation.

masona2;Please let us know what they said, then, if you do take up the service, how you got on.
BT Vision installed yesterday. Powerline adaptors used, so now have 4 (2 for PC & 2 for Vision). Only problem so far seems to be sudden increase in broadband connectivity & speed problems. having said that, this seems to have settled down - no trouble using this site & posting this. |

And your line will settle down. Tip - If you really get into an on-demand series, just make sure you clock when the content expires, because we never know what date it will be available again. Other than that, enjoy! |

Have already done the above - they said BB speed good, phone line good etc. this evening been v. bad internet use, but unplugged vision box & hey presto - internet connection and speed fine. Not too happy with this state of affairs.
I've not read any other posts of this occurance happening. By the way, what was your normal BB speed before getting the box and what is it when you plug the box in? Oh, and unplugged the vision hub how? How are you connected? |

Meant I unplugged the ethernet cable from the Powerline adaptors which the Vision box is using - then the broadband/internet was fine. Appreciate your input, btw.
