Why do you people want up to date replicas of the Reeves movies ?

You're all giving out that they're changing everything that Superman is but we've seen the light hearted cheesy version. And they can never remake that. Look at all the remakes over the past few years, most have been awful. Why would you want them to do it again. Didn't Superman Returns try to keep the tone of the originals, but that didn't go so well.

So now we're gonna see a whole new style and new music to go with it. It could be utter tripe or it could revive Superman on the big screen and be the start of something brilliant. Can you all not stop complaining about everything and just wait and see?

Not sure how much you can trust early reviews, but the ones coming out for Man of Steel are all positive so far.

>>Plaudits from the source come thick and fast, stating that the film is 'a (Christopher) Nolan story with Snyder effects/action'.

While the early trailers implied that the film may be a more cerebral look at Krypton's most famous export, 'it's not nearly as dour and serious as the trailers suggest', featuring 'TONS of action with Superman kicking all kinds of a** in his suit'.

The source added that this action has been purposely held back from the scant promotional material released so far in order to surprise audiences.

Meanwhile, as a minor point, Superman's cape is said to be 'CG'd most of the time'. <<

For some reason, I just can't see this taking off. It's too dark and "adult". Kids want Marvel/Avengers type superhero movies.

Avengers was hardly light. It was also highly overrated (but let's not go there)...

I can understand that.

DC can't do light & fluffy; look at Green Lantern for details.

DC have the market sewn up in dark & adult as the Batman trilogy showed us.

Kids were pretty happy with Batman & Robin, but that didn't work out so well for everyone else that weren't kids.
If the Nolan Batman films have proved anything and that's superhero films can be loved by both kids and adults if done right.
I have high hopes for The Man Of Steel and so far it looks like it ticks all the right boxes.

best news one could hear, zacks films are let down by storytelling sometimes but his action is amazing

nolan story/snyder action just seems an awesome combo

I found the previous Superman film disappointing, so I'm hoping for better this time.

I love that. It kind of reminds me of Heath Ledger's joker, in that Zod seems to speak there with a composed, unemotional, almost unsettling tone. I can't wait for this film.

Hope Michael Shannon is more interesting to watch than he is in Boardwalk Empire.

It does very good. Man of Steel needs to be a success for future DC films to go ahead, i believe MoS is the start of a DC film universe which will eventually lead to a Justice League film.

Easily the best thing Zack Snyder has ever directed. Loved the Amy Adams clip towards the end.

The Krypton scenes look good, as does the Zod stuff. Personally I hope they don't spend too much time in Smallville or Clark / Kal-El finding himself.

Agreed. I thought Avengers was awful.

Must say, I'm looking forward to MOS, it feels like it has been in the process of getting made forever though.

Thought that looked superb. Hit all the right notes and had some amazing looking action. Do you think the accompanying music is the NEW Hans Zimmer Superman score?
