Yeah I agree usually I hate this bit where we're just waiting, but it really does feel like they're going to go all out for this next era and the world (not the fans because we've already seen it) will get a chance to see a 'new' confident Leona.
I'm really glad that J seem to be taking control and from the list of collaborators (I will repost that here in a sec) it looks like their taking her to a more R&B sound hopefully with a bit of edge.
I do hope they don't wait until the X Factor US to relaunch her in America, I think that would be a mistake she should have at least one more hit there first so that she is seen as a succes story. Her performance on there should be seen as way to give her album sales a boost rather than to launch her album sales.”
I think if J really push the album and get a sound they like (this album might be more USA friendly than UK friendly) then they will have something to work with. I wouldn't say Leona is now unknown in the USA but she does need to work on building up her profile again. That's why I think she will launch a single in the USA first, if that's what J want that's what they will get. I really don't think we will see the half-hearted nonsense we got with Echo, they will have Leona on a big tour (which may well be why the first single is to be launched early in 2011) of the radio stations and TV shows.
As I have mentioned before, one of the main reasons very few British acts really crack the USA is the sheer amount of time promoting and touring you have to do there, they will have Leona on the road for weeks, it's possible she might hop back and forward to the UK but as we know her voice often suffers after flying.
It wouldn't bother me if the UK came second this time around, it would simply show how important the USA is to her and her labels.
