Just keep Leona away from it I say! At the end of the day all this drama just undermines the supposed point of the show and its the contestants and their future prospects in the idustry that will suffer!

Love doing this and I agree, I've loved her version best of almost every song she's sung!

Not sure about this tougher sound being that significant after reading the magazine scan. They asked her about it rather than her saying it herself, and she said she'll 'probably experiment with', so I'm not getting my hopes up too much!

True, but she does mention right off the bat that the tour has opened her up musically and given her more confidence. Plus she specifically mentions working on an uptempo with Ryan, which shows she's aware people want something different from her.

Is the picture of Leona and Ne-Yo in the studio in X magazine a new picture or is it from the Echo recordings?

I'm pretty sure its from the Echo recordings, I remember seeing it in Rolling Stone magazine but I'm sure someone can correct me .

I'm glad she made the comment about the tour. I know many of us wished she worked with her own band all the time and touring has clearly made her more confident, we saw the change at the Lisbon gig before her tour started.

I'm also hoping that she can capture some of the live feel in the studio this time, let's have less production and more raw LeLe

Isn't this exactly what they tried with Happy, though, and we all know how that worked out. People were far too bored of it when it came around to the UK release date. Having months between premiere and release date, which is what it would take to even begin on the US, just wouldn't work and would result in another Happy situation where there isn't enough detailed promo in either territory and so we get disappointing results.

I serously don't know how they'll be able to promote properly in both territories without doing a Spirt and waiting many months inbetween, where they can work specifically on one market. At the moment, Leona is quite under the radar and so they may be able to follow the Spirit formula without the mass illegal downloading which would have occurred if they'd decided to do it with the Echo era.

I forget how many weeks in advance Happy debuted to when it was released but I don't recall anyone saying it was too long. I really don't think people were bored with it, they just never got really into it in the first place.

Alexandra's Start Without You and JLS' Club Is Alive were released ages after we first heard them. I remember thinking what a massive gap it was but they both still went to #1.

A total must or something equally uptempo...if she does go on and sings a ballad (which I do love but this is not the time) I will apply for X Factor tickets every week until I get one, even if this means I have to buy a plane ticket to go to the US for their one...then just as Simon is about to give his verdict on some hapless contestant I will run on stage and scream at him a piece of my mind!

If she is on X Factor it simply has to be an uptempo, if not they have completely wasted an opportunity. Songs that would be perfect:

She could however perform Can't Breathe simply because of the insane falssetto run.

Thanks! If I did it again I'd probably take a few bits out but oh well. We didn't get as many performances in the Echo era and most were Happy so I never bothered. I might do one though once we have HQ mp3s from the tour.

Not convinced performing on the XF is a good idea but I guess they have to promote the live CD/DVD somehow. I agree that another ballad performance might be overkill but I also think it might be an idea to keep the 'uptempo card' up their sleeve until the 3rd album, giving it more an impact and more of a surprise factor.

Seeing as there may not be a bigger opportunity to 'debut' Leona's uptempo fiercness it could be a good opportunity to get people pumped for the new era.
