Hi

Iam away for the next few days and have been streaming bbc essex on my N900 over 3g.

signal seems quite good in towns but what would happen if i used over 1gb?

does any one else listen to internet radio on your phones?.

If you went over they would begin charging you. Are you with Voda? If so they normally send you a text to tell you you've gone over the limit, but if the extent of your use is the radio its unlikely you'll break that. Youtube and videos are what primarily eats the MBs away.

As you are with T-Mobile, going over your allowance won't land you with any additional charges at all. You might get a text if you go over by a lot and for a couple if months running but otherwise nothing.
A guy in one of their shops told me that a dongle user with a 3 GB allowance racked up 130GB in one month! All that happened was that he was told to watch his usage in future.

Unlikely to be true, if that is the case it's unfair on other customers who will get slower speeds because of that abuse.

I thought it was a bit OTT as well.
The fact is though that the OP won't get clobbered for exceeding the FUP.

Checking the bit rate you can work out how much per hour you are using.

I've not compared but just maybe via Skyfire the data rate could go down.
