At the time both teams were spotted and twittered about as 'they are filming the Apprentice at the mo'. Nick Hewer is a bit of a giveaway. As a result quite a few people turned up and I expect bought some just to get on tv. I doubt they feel too hard done by. Maybe that inflated the sales figures somewhat.

Though the boys used as little meat as legally possible, at least it wasn't the type of stuff that goes into most processed foods. Some of that you wouldn't easily recognise.

It sounded like they lost a batch of meat through not adding enough water. That might have cost them £15 of profit, too. Not much was made of it in the edit, but I wonder if Dan tried to pin it on Alex (that being why Alex was in the boardroom).


Agreed. I thought it a shame the team leader got fired for it. OK, he wasn't great, but he got it done, under difficult circumstances. I'd have cut him some slack.

Despite being a messy job, could they not have sent the batch through the mixer again and added more water? Have to squeeze it out of the skins (mind you knowing the quality might have just dumped it back in!) Would have cost time of course. Paloma had trouble getting the feed right and I'd be surprised if that didn't get dumped back in the hopper.

Despite the shouting the job was done to plan it seemed. In previous years the boys team is often a shouty uncoordinated mess. Appeared to be better this time. Yet all the guys said it was a shambles. Part of the selling certainly was, but the rest? Maybe they ganged up on him there as a chance to get rid of what could have been a strongish player..

I didn't think Alex did enough to get the push. Stuart is going to be one annoying twonk, but on paper he looks to have some skills. Just needs to keep his mouth shut. So unfortunately that leaves Dan, who probably does have a good cv but really showed the wrong attitude and lost the plot at the end.

Sorry but he was terrible.

Judging from the scene as edited, Dan seemed partly responsible with the mess for the too dry sausage. He was really pushing Alex and Raleigh to get the machine started before the recipe was ready, and as they're both very weak characters, they went with his instructions rather than pointing out that they knew the process better than he did.

I really think Dan blew it by not bringing back ANYONE else from his subteam that barely sold anything. Shibby closed the final deal, and Chris seems like he could out BS Dan and so might be dangerous, but why on Earth not Raleigh? He seemed to barely function, was really inarticulate and easily flustered and is exactly the sort of gleaming useless posho that Lordalan will boot out first chance he gets.

You have 4 people working for 6 day weeks for 12k? And somehow the 4 are doing what 8 did working 2 shifts every day.Do you want them to work 17 hour days too? You would then need to find some new customers to buy your overpriced ghastly sausages every day as no one would buy them twice.

The boys model can't make more than the girls. They could have made more profit than than the girls by making and selling more sausages because their profit was bigger for their cost - but that needed more time to make or sell more. If they had won, it would have been embarassing as, yet again, the nasty cheap inedible option would have won.

Maybe with the posh Tories back in (and looking like it when this was filmed) Sugar is hedging his bets and feeling his way back to his Tory supporting days. Afterall, who buys his stuff these days? Boot out the Boris Johnson goingtobe? Hmmm.

More seriously, perhaps Dan was more taken aback by Raleigh's attack then it appeared. Someone who can bring passion to a speech often survives. You know the youngster wanting a second chance always gets it. It would have backfired on Dan.

I think Dan was probably going to fired regardless, because we're overdue a Week 1 PM firing to keep up the storyline myth that it's any more onerous a time to volunteer than any other, but surely Raleigh has to be at least a better option than Stuart? Who sold by the looks of it more than anybody else bar Christopher? (Jamie's speed in backing down over who sold more between the two of them suggests it wasn't him who outperformed him, and I can't see it being Alex unless something truly weird happened). Unless you're really keen to be altruistic and put in the yeoman's work by providing the first of the three or four Boardrooms he's going to sit through before buggering off.

I'm going on the girls' quality model btw. As for the 12k, that's the sort of low wages that get paid. In practice you'd find a way to up them to get more dedicated staff. Or you'll be Dominos. Share premises, join forces with a related business eg a farm.

There's 8 people working as that's how big the team is on the show. In real life you wouldn't need that many, as it's a batch process. As you're not supplying a supermarket chain, you don't need to run the machines for hours. In the beginning 2 people could start the business, taking on more as you sell more and need more production/sellers. I doubt that sausages have to be made fresh everyday. The show had a deliberately stress inducing timetable. In real life don't need to be up at 4am, you have fridges, freezers and bulk buying.

Dan despite his strengths was also responsible for not selling very well at all, on a sales task, and hampering the sales strategy by not having one that made sense. His only chance of survival was to bring someone who could annoy Sugar by saying really stupid things (Stuart) or the weakest of the others (Alex the inventor of the Bendy Bus, bring that up!!). Rayleigh can play the youngest sympathy card and the rest look to be able to look after themselves. Karren likes Jamie anyway. Ergo Dan has few options and is screwed.
