My hunch is only the major players such as Lovefilm (now owned by Amazon), Blinkbox (now owned by Tesco) and the expected UK launch of US company Netflix can / may. Aside from perhaps BT Vision, which has also demonstrated it has deep pockets, the rest will be restricted to niche content.
I've just read that BT Vision now have 80+ HD films available for download, plus the download speed is now much faster than it used to be. So I would say that's a major step in the right direction.

The thing to bear in mind is that Google doesn't intend this to be a consumer mass market product. It's more of a proof of concept to encourage the adoption of an Android OS in other TVs and set-tops.

Interesting looking remote control, but I have no more room for boxes UNDER my telly. Build it into the telly and I'm on board.

(why would Sony be getting involved with an experiment for Google? This is a Sony product they intend to make money off, hence the price)
