I was wondering what the hell a pop man was LOL.

I haven't seen those fizzy drinks vans since the 80s when it was Barr's glass bottles that you could return and get money back for.

Haven't seen a milkman since around then either!

Used to Hagues lemonade around here. It died out a long time ago, as did the milkman.

Its a shame really that we have lost that to the supermarkets but such is life.

At first I thought you meant the adult entertainment type of pop man.

There used to be a man who delivered drinks in my area, but that stopped a long time ago. It's rare to see the fish man or coal man. I haven't seen a milk man for years.

Are you windy miller?

Either that or you're from some northern forgotten realm.

LOL, I remember the 'ginger lorry' coming round in the 1980s - we call pop 'ginger' in the Glasgow area.

As someone said above they used to sell Barr's ginger, all the horrible lurid limeades, cherryades etc! Also One-Cal.

I also remember a rag and bone man coming round the streets in the 80s.

In the area of Scotland where I live now there are still coal lorries, but I don't think they still go round in my old neck of the woods near Glasgow.

Happy memories!

We used to have a pop man when I was younger. We'd get a load of bottles of pop for Christmas.

Now I have a Fruit and Veg man who comes around, he also does milk.

I thought he used to deliver beer.

Back in the seventies when Unigate ruled the roost our local milkman used to double up as a fizzy drink delivery man

LOL, that's right, it was atrocious!

As were many of their products (IMO of course!). Half of them probably wouldn't be allowed nowadays with the the amount of sugar and colourings that were in them.

Rather like Unigate and Co-op milkmen, as a child in the Midlands there were two "pop" rounds. The Alpine man and the Corona nman

I remember in the late 80s/early 90s the milkman used to deliver pop as well as milk. My parents would put a massive order in for fizzy drinks at Christmas time.

I think it kind of stopped when they began getting their milk from the supermarket because it was cheaper than having it delivered.

We have a weekly organic box of fruit and veg delivered by a man so does that count as having a fruit and veg man?!

The milkman used to carry pop about with him 20 odd years ago - I often used to buy Corona cream soda off him (My fav as a kid)- now the milkman only seems to have spare orange juice on board so you have to order it.
